Historia
Living with anyone who is narcissistic or who has a borderline disorder is difficult enough. When that person is a parent and someone who you had no choice but to put up with, it becomes even harder. Young lives can be forever affected by their behaviour and it can lead to other issues later on.

Overall good, but
Revisado: 12-08-21
This book seems to minimize the responsibility of the disordered person to behave appropriately. The presence of a personality disorder is a challenge to the person who has it, but it doesn’t excuse abusive or neglectful behavior. Empathy and consideration for others are abilities that we each choose to use or not, even when you have a personality disorder.

Historia
Your child might be the explosive type, the ones who burst into anger when they don’t get what they want. They may be very agreeable at times, but they can be a real pain to handle when they reach their boiling point. You might have tried bargaining, negotiating, and pleading with them to no avail. At some point, you may even have reached your own limit.

This is snake oil. Woke lecturing and blaming others (as this writer does) cannot teach empathy. Instilling a sense of victimhood and entitlement is how we came to have less empathic people in our society today.
Also, the narrator was ok for the first book and terrible for the second. I had to speed it up to 2.0 to get the attempted automation to read at a normal speed.

Get yourself a hat and then hang the H-E-double hockey sticks on to it!
Revisado: 05-28-20
I enjoy listening to audiobooks while I work. It helps me drown out the clamor around me, and focus on the work to be done. This book didn’t do that. Many times, I found myself so captivated by the story and the imagery of this book that I had completely stopped working. I don’t regret a minute!! Best unproductive work day ever!!!

A Modern Classic Movie in Your Mind
Revisado: 11-13-19
The imagery in this novel plays as smoothly and accurately as the best movie you've ever seen, with the benefit of the internal narration that has yet to be successfully portrayed in any movie you've ever seen. I loved that this book was read by the author. No slight against any other readers, but it seems that Andrew Klavan's voice and inflections gave an already thrilling tale a zing of electricity that pulls the reader/listener in completely. Well done!!

A star-studded, enthusiastically performed sophism
Revisado: 04-06-18
What disappointed you about Last Week Tonight with John Oliver Presents a Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo?
I am disappointed that this book was created to speak over the original book by Ms. Pence as an attack against her father. The book is disingenuous and prejudiced. It is the equivalent of reading to children at the library story-time, but having an obnoxious bully badgering the children and you as you attempt to read.
What was most disappointing about Marlon Bundo and Jill Twiss ’s story?
This story is blatantly bigoted since it is clearly an attempt to smear an entire demographic of people with the writers' own intolerance and hatred.
How could the performance have been better?
The performances were enthusiastic, but sorely lacking even a molecule of integrity and substance.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
This book and the purpose behind it is repulsive. This book is a straw-man argument that has been marketed specifically to children as a retaliation against someone the writers' and performers' disagree with politically. It offers no value to the reader or to society as a whole, except to show the pettiness and immaturity of all involved in this book.
