Historia
Hillbilly Elegy is a passionate and personal analysis of a culture in crisis - that of white working-class Americans. The decline of this group, a demographic of our country that has been slowly disintegrating over 40 years, has been reported on with growing frequency and alarm but has never before been written about as searingly from the inside. J. D. Vance tells the true story of what a social, regional, and class decline feels like when you were born with it hung around your neck.

A must listen

I knew very little about JD Vance. What I did know wasn’t good. After listening to his story and learning about his life and experiences. I found an understanding and respect for him.

Historia
The first American book on personal finance, "The Way to Wealth" by Benjamin Franklin is still the best and wisest money book ever written. Originally published in 1758 as the preface to "Poor Richard's Almanack", this little gem has been through innumerable printings and sold millions of copies to those in search of smart but entertaining advice about hard work, earning and saving money and debt.

This book? Although brief, is filled with practical reasoning that we today fell so far away from.

Historia
‘It was a sweet finish after the bitter pills of floggings and bullets with which these same governments, just at that time, dosed the German working-class risings’. The Communist Manifesto is, perhaps surprisingly, a most engaging and accessible work, containing even the odd shaft of humour in this translation by Samuel Moore for the 1888 English edition.

Interesting to hear, in his own words, the origins of this particular school of thought.

Historia
The Supreme Court endorses terrorists' rights, flag burning, and importing foreign law. Is that in the Constitution? You're right: it's not. But these days the Constitution is no restraint on our out-of-control Supreme Court. The Court imperiously strikes down laws and imposes new ones purely on its own arbitrary whims. Even though liberals like John Kerry are repeatedly defeated at the polls, the majority on the allegedly "conservative" Supreme Court reflects their views and wields absolute power.

A Great History of our Judicial System
Revisado: 06-16-23
I throughly enjoyed this book. I learned a lot about our judiciary, what the framers meant for it to be and how it became twisted into an activist wing.

Historia
So far, Kathie Williams has made a good showing as the only American at a mystery writers' conference in Manchester - what with that falling asleep in public thing behind her. The sight of Iain MacLaren wakes her up. Clad in a deliciously woolly sweater, the burly Scotsman seems to be holding up a wall at the cocktail party. So Kathie makes her move . . . and winds up stark naked with him in bed, where his thick Scottish brogue, thick manly chest, and thick...other parts...drive her to do things she's never done before. Like fall in love.

Our Heroine, a tad annoying.
Revisado: 10-05-22
I thought the story was cute and should’ve concluded at an earlier point. Instead it went off in different directions and I found the main character so annoying, whining over childish things. It was embarrassing to listen to at times, I had to take a break from it.
