Without love, they were doomed to be ousted from their kingdom at the end of a year and a day. A year and a day passed. This is where their story starts. Painful
Revisado: 06-29-20
I tried really hard to like this, but it was too painful. The story, the writing, the narration. Ugh, I'm really glad I didn't have to pay for this nonsense.

Excellent story, mediocre narration
Revisado: 08-15-19
I am really enjoying this series, however, it just isn't the same without the original narrator. The author narrates this book, and although I eventually got used to listening to him, it just wasn't as vivid, rich, and immersing as listening to Peter Sandon. I'm not sure why a change in narration was made half way through the series, but it is very disappointing.

Entertaining

I just discovered this series, and am loving it!
it reminds me a little of Narnia, a little of LOTR, and a sprinkling of Harry Potter.

Well, it's no wonder. The plot - suspicion for an elderly woman's murder falls on her mysterious lodger - is from Agatha Christie. The wonderful character happens to be the world's most famous sleuth, Hercule Poirot.

Enjoyable
Revisado: 06-29-19
I love all of AC's HP mysteries, and I really enjoyed this one, too. All I would say is that there are a lot of people/names to keep track of. I half wish I had written them each down as they came up.
Hugh Fraser is my favorite HP narrator, and one of the reasons I've loved listening to these books.

Excellent Series and Narration
Revisado: 09-20-18
Gah! I finished listening to Deathly Hallows tonight!
As much as I loved reading the books, and as great as the movies are, listening to the series has been my absolute favorite way to experience the series. Jim Dale does such an extraordinary job of bringing the characters to life, I can't imagine any other narrator even coming close.
I laughed through them, cried (especially this last book), and bit off all of my fingernails in anticipation, throughout the whole series. Harry Potter has never been more entertaining, and alive than while I listened to the series on Audible.
Now, I'm just left with the empty, sad feeling of having to move on after an incredible series.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Historia
The unthinkable has happened in a small community outside of San Francisco. A series of shocking murders has occurred, the victims far too innocent and defenseless. For Detective Kate Martinelli, just promoted to Homicide and paired with a seasoned cop who's less than thrilled to be handed a green partner, it's a difficult case that just keeps getting harder. Then the detectives receive what appears to be a case-breaking lead.

Boring Naration
Revisado: 10-01-16
The plot may have been good, but it's hard to tell because the incredibly dull monotone of the narrator made it difficult to stay focused on the book. I am a huge fan of the Mary Russell series, and so, I was really looking forward to listening to another of King's series. To say I am disappointed in this book would be an understatement. I'm not even sure I will be able to finish it.
