Historia
In Skyfaring, airline pilot and flight romantic Mark Vanhoenacker shares his irrepressible love of flying on a journey from day to night, from new ways of mapmaking and the poetry of physics to the names of winds and the nature of clouds. Here, anew, is the simple wonder and transcendent joy of motion and the remarkable new perspectives that height and distance bestow on everything we love.

What did you love best about Skyfaring?
All the details of long distance, commercial flying.
What other book might you compare Skyfaring to and why?
None
Would you be willing to try another one of John Moraitis’s performances?
No. John Moraitis's performance was stilted and irritating. He over-pronounces words and it lacked the warmth of the conversational tone of the author. I almost quit listening. However, because I was highly motivated by the subject I stuck with it.

Historia
Jon Ronson is fascinated by madness, extraordinary behaviour and the human mind. He has spent his life investigating crazy events, following fascinating people and unearthing unusual stories. Collected here from various sources (including the Guardian and GQ America) are the best of his adventures.

Querky stories delightfully entertaining
Revisado: 11-30-12
If you could sum up Lost at Sea: The Jon Ronson Mysteries in three words, what would they be?
Querky delightfully entrtaining
Who was your favorite character and why?
All the characters were so different. Each fascinating. A look into the fringes of our human family. And yet they might not be so fringe. One must ask oneself, what part of them is in me.
What does Jon Ronson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Ron's matter of fact voicing of the book was perfect. He reads the story without imposing any hint of sarcasm, judgment, or humor. Only irony is left.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I looked forward to each chapter to see what new weird situation and people Jon would introduce me to. I found it fascinating to look into a multiplicity of realities and people.
Any additional comments?
Jon is fearless in going for the story even when it was dangerous. He's a dispassionate observer and invites us to tag along. Loved it.

Historia
Many consider Franklin the most fascinating American man who ever lived. A scientist, businessman, diplomat, author, inventor, philosopher and politician, he is America's original Renaissance man. His remarkable and varied accomplishments include the discovery of electricity and the modernization of the postal system. Brilliant and bawdy, a master statesman and a cultural icon, Franklin was so important and popular in his day that, according to the author, "... only Washington mattered as much."

Franklin's character is buried in too many deatils
Revisado: 09-21-12
Would you try another book from H. W. Brands and/or Nelson Runger?
Probably not. His research is impeccable but his main character is buried in so many details that interrupt the unfolding. I find my mind wandering as I listen.
Has The First American turned you off from other books in this genre?
I love history. Brand is no Bruce Catton.
What aspect of Nelson Runger’s performance would you have changed?
I never got used to Nelson Runger's stiffness of voice.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
As I said, the research was impeccable but often wandered away from the main tale.
Any additional comments?
This is the first book I've downloaded that I've abandoned. I listened to all of part I and half of part II. It just didn't engage me.
