fact filled but ironically not a great compelling story with the exception of 60 second stories about an incident with a key player.

If you were told today that you come from a lineage of animals, and probably have some apes and chimpanzees as long-lost cousins, what would you think? If you knew that the creation story was just make-believe invented to control your world, what would you say? What if you were told that your species would one day come to an end? All of these and many more are the topics explored in Sapiens. Note: This is a summary and review of the book Sapiens and not the original book.

Thankfully short. Not terribly insightful. Probably best for those that are not familiar with the history of man.

it could be shorter
Revisado: 10-24-22
There are some good lessons here, particularly about bullies and self respect. I also found value in some of the stories of challenges Dr Peterson faced with his children.
But I found the book to be too long and repetitive and simply verbose. It could have been one third or one quarter as long and still gotten the messages across.

But reporters soon uncovered a more shocking story: Parsons had been a devotee of the city’s occult scene.

Sonia Faruqi, a 25-year-old Ivy League graduate and investment banker, had no idea that the night she arrived at the doorstep of an organic dairy farm would mark the beginning of a journey that would ultimately wind all the way around the world. Read this book
Revisado: 01-19-21
I'm not a vegetarian. Or and animal rights advocate. At least I wasn't before reading this book. This book did open my eyes though to how things have changed since I grew up on a farm.
Although I realize this book is not the final word on the subject, it is compelling and worth the read. It doesn't cover just North American farms, but looks at farms and systems all over the world. The good and the bad and those in between.
The book also hints at how we might influence the industry.
Even better than the content of the book is the reading of the book. The reader's talent with voices is very impressive.

Historia
When we seek an example of great leaders with unalloyed courage, the person who comes to mind is Winston Churchill: the iconic, visionary war leader immune from the consensus of the day, who stood firmly for his beliefs when everyone doubted him. But how did young Winston become Churchill? What gave him the strength to take on the superior force of Nazi Germany when bombs rained on London and so many others had caved? In this landmark biography of Winston Churchill based on extensive new material, the true genius of the man, statesman, and leader can finally be fully understood.

a bit long but still good
Revisado: 09-16-19
this one was a but long. the most salient lessons were evident in the first third of the book and the remainder just adds a walk through history. nevertheless overall it is good but not awesome. I still give it five stars because the performance is top notch.

Historia
When the name General Patton comes to mind, we are automatically inundated with themes of strength and tough resolution. Patton was a man who seemed to embody the old American ethos of the rugged individual who shattered all expectations, decimated the status quo, and pulled himself up by his bootstraps. In order to understand Patton, you can’t focus on just one side of this larger-than-life personality; you have to take in the whole picture. This audiobook allows you to do just that.
