Historia
My name is Mercy Thompson Hauptman, and my mate, Adam, is the werewolf who leads the Columbia Basin Pack, the pack charged with keeping the people who live and work in the Tri-Cities of Washington State safe. It’s a hard job, and it doesn’t leave much room for side quests. Which is why when I needed to travel to Montana to help my brother, I intended to go by myself.

Not My Favorite But Good
Revisado: 06-27-24
There was too much time between books so I think I forgot a chunk of things and the author filled in the blanks somewhat. The story in and of itself is interesting and the performance was pretty good as usual. I find Mercy's father to be super annoying. All in all it wasn't my favorite but I did not hate it.

Nice In Between
Revisado: 06-02-24
I liked the story. We get to learn a little more about some of the series supporting characters points of view. we see how the main characters relationship goes even stronger. The only issues I had is we didn't learn anything from Azriel, Elain, and Nesta. My other issue is Nesta. Something really awful must have happened to her to cause her to be such an awful person. I can't wait to find out the deep-seated trauma that sits inside of her because she is extremely off-putting. There might be a reason but it is not an excuse to treat people that way. I'm almost afraid to read book five because she is going to get on my last nerve. I can just feel it. Poor Cassian.

At A Loss For Words - But I'll Try
Revisado: 07-17-23
indescribably good. I know I'm not doing the author any favors by saying this, but I am without words to truly express what a great story this was and how well done. It was well written and excellently narrated. I hope the narrator is a voice actress because if she isn't she ought to be. She really brought the story to life for me and I have no idea if I had read it I would read it the same way in my head. Nonetheless, I think I would have still enjoyed it, but because I didn't read it I enjoyed it even more. Makes sense of that if you will because I can't eloquently describe how this book has left me. The story aside, I truly enjoyed the author's note which in a sense filled in certain blanks I had in my head about the story. I really liked that she made the general and Deborah a couple. I hope she gets her due with this book. It was excellent.

Why, Baldacci??! Just...why?
Revisado: 02-24-23
It could have been so great. People are bellyaching about Jack Reacher and this being a knock off. I've never read a Jack Reacher book so I have nothing to say about that. I want to bellyache about two things:
1. Sam Cole. WTAH, Baldacci?! Did you have to do that crap? You really ticked me off with that move. 😡
2. The big reveal of the bad guy, who was behind it and the motive. I think that was very disappointing. A let down. Anyway, I'm not going to stop with his books. This particular one is the first one I didn't thoroughly enjoy. realistically they can't all be perfect and on the same level. So, this is bound to happen from time to time.

I'm Sick of Books With Stupid Women
Revisado: 08-20-22
What's so appealing about a so-called strong and independent woman who lacks common sense and humility? NOTHING! I found Jenna annoying and Mack whipped. They called it love. Whatever. At least the narrator wasn't annoying. It had that going for it.

Better Than I Thought
Revisado: 08-06-12
I wasn't sure about this book. I avoided like the plague for more than a year since. I finally gave in and thought it to be a really good story. I would have liked the characters to develop more and what the author lacked there she made up for it brilliantly by other aspects of the book. I liked learning about the psy world and how the psy network functioned. It was a pretty clever storyline. Keeping up with series just to meet new characters will be worth it in my opinion.
All in all a good story. Hopefully the rest of the books in the series will be as enjoyable.
Lastly, Angela Dawe-as I expected-gave a fine narration.

Kept My Interest
Revisado: 09-23-11
This was a pretty good story. The characters kept things interesting. I suppose if I had to pick something to critique, it would be my issue with many novels and not this one specifically. It is the fact that people fall in love way too quickly. Admittedly, when it is centered around a respectable storyline it does help. It was also the first Novak novel for me. Having it read by Angela Dawe is a plus as she is one of my favorite narrators. I will definitely be getting Book 2 and Book 3 whenever it's released.

Favorite Story of the Quartet-No Spoilers
Revisado: 05-19-11
There are various parts of each of the quartet stories that I like but as a whole-an entire project if you will-Emma and Jack's story is my favorite. Which is kind of weird because Parker is my favorite character of the lot. Anyway, the whole quartet as a story idea is pretty neat and makes for nice fun reading. It's good if you just want to relax and laugh and have an all around good read without expecting it to be terribly deep. If you're looking for more deep or mystery related Nora Roberts these aren't the ones to read. If however, you want something enjoyable, different, and arguably with a bit of fluff then give the quartet a shot.
Also, I have listened to other books narrated by Angela Dawe. That lady is talented and has a knack for changing character voices without flaw. I find myself now looking for books narrated by Dawe. She's that good...in my opinion. Too bad she didn't narrate the entire quartet series but 3 out of 4 is still pretty good.

Pretty Good Book
Revisado: 03-27-11
I have never read (or listened) to any of Linda Howard's books. I think this was a pretty good book for the most part. I must say she did a really good job of taking readers inside the head of the villain. That dude was beyond wacko. Very convincing.
I had issues with the manner in which the romance unfolded. It didn't seem very natural to me but it's just my opinion. In spite of it the book on a whole was good. I really liked the main character, Sarah.
If nothing else it was an entertaining book.

Not Bad-Room For Improvement
Revisado: 03-23-11
This is the first KR book I've had an issue with. Don't get me wrong, I liked what I read in the synopsis but I found Kate...annoying.
The story definitely had potential but she was too emotional and irrational. As an attorney you'd think she'd know better but I suppose when you're in the thick of things your mind won't process the same way.
Kudos to Joyce Bean for an excellent narration!
