Historia
When Elon Musk was a kid in South Africa, he was regularly beaten by bullies. One day a group pushed him down some concrete steps and kicked him until his face was a swollen ball of flesh. He was in the hospital for a week. But the physical scars were minor compared to the emotional ones inflicted by his father, an engineer, rogue, and charismatic fantasist.

A jerk and a genius
Revisado: 01-02-24
Great educational moment learning that the modern day genius in tech business is a jerk who has no empathy towards ordinary people. I expected an explosive bio from Walter Isaacson after reading Albert Einstein and parts of Steve Job. He didn’t disappoint. He told the dark side and extremely dark side of Musk while equally emphasizing the gutsy business decisions and innovations of a very focused mind. People with Asperger Symptoms should be encouraged to read/hear this book.

Have vs have not sports parents
Revisado: 05-12-23
Sad but quite educational, at least for me, how college admissions is not always about grades, wealth, connections, or ability to excel in sports. Parents should investigate and encourage kids to consider less popular sports that have higher chance of winning a sports scholarship. It is sad unless your kid is a super athlete you need to fork out a good chunk of your earnings to train them and sacrifice your time and kids’ time too! There is a message here for all parents!

Historia
Millions of Americans have lost confidence in our political and economic system. After years of stagnant wages, volatile job markets, and an unwillingness by those in power to deal with profound threats such as climate change, there is a mounting sense that the system is fixed, serving only those select few with enough money to secure a controlling stake. With the characteristic clarity and passion that has made him a central civil voice, Robert B. Reich shows how wealth and power have interacted to install an elite oligarchy, eviscerate the middle class, and undermine democracy.

Courageous attempt to expose The Syatem
Revisado: 09-23-20
This is a very courageous attempt to expose The System. I learned a quite a few facts from this book like the political and economical systems of the United States function. Before listening to this book I thought that I understood how IS functioned as I have been following Dr Reich in social media and have read two previous books. This book is extraordinary and timely during the election year. It is scary to think that we are no longer a democracy but an oligarchy like Russia. He points out how we could defeat the oligarchy. Thank you Dr Reich.
