Historia
Trauma is a fact of life. Veterans and their families deal with the painful aftermath of combat; one in five Americans has been molested; one in four grew up with alcoholics; one in three couples have engaged in physical violence. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma, has spent more than three decades working with survivors. In The Body Keeps the Score, he uses recent scientific advances to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure, engagement, self-control, and trust.

Started out Awesome but Fizzled
Revisado: 10-14-22
The book started out very promising ... went very VERY dark in the middle ... tried to explain EMDR and Neurofeedback in the end without much evidence ... it was an OK book but could have been much MUCH better !

Historia
Can urban farms reduce neighborhood crime? These may not sound like typical questions for a family physician to consider, but in Farmacology, Daphne Miller, MD, ventures out of her medical office and travels to seven innovative family farms around the country on a quest to discover the hidden connections between how we care for our bodies and how we grow our food. Miller also seeks out the perspectives of noted biomedical scientists and artfully weaves in their research, along with stories from her own practice. Farmacology offers a profound new approach to healing.

The first 8 chapters tell you all you need to know
Revisado: 08-29-22
The first 7 or 8 chapters were fascinating and I learned about microbiomes in nature and how good regenerative farming is for each of us. Then the author went off the rails and started playing the I know everything but failed to research a thing !!! Dr. Daphne Miller, MD should have ended the book there because she strayed so far from the intent of the book I was embarrassed for her. Telling a story about a lip blemish was a bridge too far and she must have been making an effort to fill the pages to meet her book deal !!! What a waist !!! I recommend the first part of the book to people interested in microbiomes and then read and watch information available by Dr. Justin Sonnenburg to better learn about the growing knowledge in this field.

Historia
Following the success of New York Times best sellers Dumpty and Trumpty Dumpty Wanted a Crown, award-winning actor, author, and illustrator John Lithgow presents the third book in his runaway hit series. A Confederacy of Dumptys takes us through a history of 25 "American Scoundrels" in this all-new collection of Lithgow's satirical poems. While the Trump Era was rife with corruption and abuse of power, it was nothing new. Through Lithgow's cutting humor, you will hear about a rogues' gallery of villains that came before Donald J. Trump.

All 3 Books are Beyond Marvelous
Revisado: 10-07-21
JL has once again outdone himself with Book 3 of Dumpty. JL is the most talented actor, wit, comedian, author, artist and just all around honorable guy I know. He is the antithesis of #45 and makes me feel like I lived on the right/correct side of history. Thank-you for that!
The only comment of disappointment I have is that I miss the accompanying download of artwork that Book's 1 & 2 had.
Please do a Book 4!

A lot of Earth History Briefly
Revisado: 09-06-21
Well done and fascinating information. The author is clearly deeply educated about this subject. the most interesting part of his presentation is the "differing points of view" so many scientists have about how we got to this point in time.
But most scientists agree we could be in for a rocky ( no punk intended ) future in a very short time.

Hoped for Brilliant Incites; Severely Disappointed
Revisado: 08-16-21
Vicky Ward's podcast, memoir, inciteful investigation was a huge disappointment for me ... for years now I have watched, listened, read and studied all I can get my hands on as to "what the heck was going on with Jeffrey Epstein and his world?" ... I was so hoping this 13 part series would give me a great investigative report to answer that question ... it did NOT ... it was no better than a "teaser" by Vicky Ward to say she knew Ghislaine Maxwell so well she knew much more than anyone else ... she does NOT! ... I/we, the audience, am/are left with no new information and her ending concludes "we may never know" ... I still gave it 4-stars because Vicky has a beautiful voice to listen to and it was entertaining ... Vicky's remarks ... "we knew so little about her in a way..." rings out as the fundamental truth of this audiobook but ultimately we all may never know the truth EVER of the diabolical mind of Jeffrey Epstein and all those in his orbit !!
