Historia
A complete crime fiction box set! Homicide detective Thomas Prescott may be retired—but a serial killer, a high-profile murder, an ill-fated cruise, and a chilling small-town crime add more than enough excitement to his hard-earned rest. This collection includes the first four books: Unforeseen, Gray Matter, The Afrikaans, and Show Me.

Collusion between big corporations and our government. What’s new?
Revisado: 05-12-22
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good entertaining story and likes to learn about the corrupt policy’s of big corporations and our own government who is supposed to protect us and sells us out for lots of money. So what’s new? In this case I didn’t know about Montsano and Barack Obama. The story is very interesting. You should listen to it.

Historia
"I’m James Taylor and I’m a professional autobiographer", says the celebrated folk singer at the start of this tender audio memoir. Through decades of music by one of the best-selling musicians of all time, who created classics like "Fire and Rain" and "Carolina in My Mind", James Taylor has doled out his history in the poetry of his work. Taylor says his early life is, "the source of many of my songs", and Break Shot is a tour of his first 21 years in rich, new detail.

The human spirit survives.

I loved this thoughtful recollection of James Taylor’s beginnings. It seems like many of us have Siri I de alcoholic fathers and mothers and we still did not give up. Thank you for sharing. Your story gives others hope.

Historia
Before he was “Babe” or “The Sultan of Swat” or “The Great Bambino”, George Herman Ruth was just another teenage misfit at St. Mary’s School for Boys. But Ruth has something the other boys don’t, and when Baltimore Orioles manager Jack Dunn watches him throw a baseball over a building, Ruth gets the chance to punch his ticket out of the orphanage. All he has to do now is make the team.

Great short story. I am not convinced The Babe was so naive, but he certainly had a good heart in this story. I only wish it were longer!

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

Excellent Read
Revisado: 06-23-19
This is the story of men who had unbelievable courage and a will to survive. The focus is Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who actually ran in the Berlin Olympics when Hitler was in charge. The detail included about the events in this man’s life helps us to understand and learn what the WWII allied soldiers experienced in this war. They were not pretty, but horrifying experiences and any man or woman who was brutally treated just as Louis was, should be honored. I loved the book. I hope these men will never be forgotten. Everyone should read this book.

Historia
Inspector Porfiry Petrovich Rostnikov is an honest policeman in a very dishonest post-Soviet Union. He and his team are searching for a serial killer who has claimed at least 40 victims. And then there is the problem of protecting a visiting British journalist who is working on a story about a Moscow prostitution ring. In doing so Rostnikov and his team uncover a chain of murders that lead to a source too high to be held accountable if the police want to keep their jobs - or their lives.

Excellent book.
Revisado: 04-25-17
Stuart Kaminisky has been one of my most favorite authors. I especially love this dumpy old deceive and his exploits. I believe Kaminisky is a genius. His Lieberman mysteries are excellent too. His heros, two old men who live by their wits and abilities are my favorites for at least 30 years now. I also loved the Rockford series on TV. He wrote that too.
