Historia
Timothy and Jonah, wealthy entrepreneurs with a spoiled son, hide sins from their past—one involving a death on a cruise, the other a crime in Bali. Nathan and Samantha, the hot ex-nanny turned trophy wife, grapple with infertility and a shocking paternity secret. Bartosz and Angelika (he’s a chef, she’s a former sex worker) carry debts to the other couples they don’t even realize they owe. Over fourteen days, the couples bond—but their pasts are too deeply intertwined to stay hidden. The sly concierge, Putu, knows more than he lets on.

Terrible Characters
Revisado: 04-04-25
The only above average thing about this story is the performance. None of the characters are likable, In fact, they’re all immoral and horrible to one another. Like one of the commenters mentioned, the story is unbelievable, “newlyweds who hate each other.”

Historia
Simon and Vicky couldn’t seem more normal: a wealthy Chicago couple, he a respected law professor, she an advocate for domestic violence victims. A stable, if unexciting marriage. But one thing’s for sure: absolutely nothing is what it seems. The pair are far from normal, and one of them just may be a killer. When the body of a beautiful socialite is found hanging in a mansion in a nearby suburb, Simon and Vicky’s secrets begin to unravel. A secret whirlwind affair. A twenty-million-dollar trust fund about to come due.

One of the best book I’ve listened to
Revisado: 08-27-24
I truly enjoyed this listen. It’s very well written and good character development. There were great twists, but not too much. The narrations were excellent as well. Will definitely look for the next book from this author.

Ending and Narration
Revisado: 08-22-24
I usually love Imogen Church because she’s awesome, but not for this one. She was terrible in this audiobook. Like other reviewers mentioned, the intake of heavy (and I mean HEAVY) breathing is beyond distracting. I almost gave up on it. In addition to that, her sing song narration throughout the story makes it so hard to take any character seriously. The only normal voice she does is for Angela. Now to the story. A big chunk of the beginning was so boring, but it did lead to a big development of the story. I agree with the majority of reviewers that the ending was crap. The only explanation why the author did what she did was to build up a momentum for the next book.

Really Enjoyed This Mild Story
Revisado: 08-16-24
It’s nice to listen to a mild romance once in a while. The story is set in a nice setting with moderately tamed characters. The narration is excellent, too. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Terrible Story
Revisado: 08-02-24
***spoiler***
It’s one thing to be a “strong woman,” but it’s another to be a strong woman who put others down and constantly nag and undermine your own husband. It also doesn’t stop there. It’s an okay story, kind of boring and it could get tiresome after the constant whining from beginning to the end of the story. I got through most of it while hiking, otherwise, I wouldn’t finish it.

Nice Twist at the end
Revisado: 07-26-24
This is probably the best book from this author that I’ve listened to. The story is different and the length of time is perfect. The narration is also very good. I enjoyed listening to it during my hike.

Are there really gullible and horrible women like these characters IRL?
Revisado: 07-19-24
***SPOILER ALERT***
The main female character Rebecca is impossible for me to feel bad for, She believes a stranger on the very (the only) first time seeing over her husband, whom she knows and been with for years, without any investigation to see how legit their claim is. She must’ve known his character or at least recognize his demeanor when he’s denying something. Liars no matter how good are easy to spot if you know them personally. The story is predictable and the ending was disappointing. I was hoping for Sam to leave her. The 3 main female characters are beyond gullible (Rebecca) and evil and pathetic (the friend and the woman at the door).

Vile Main Character
Revisado: 07-05-24
The story is very poorly written. I feel like the whole thing is straight out of the author’s diary or something. It is all over the place. One minute the main character is talking about the present and the next she’s talking about her past. There is no strategic break between the timeline. It’s like how you’re talking and one thing leads to another, you’re on a completely different subject.
That said, I’ve never listened to or read a story with such a despicable main character before. The character of Linda (Lindy) is full of self-pity, jealousy, and badmouthing everyone in her life. In fact, 90% of the story was spent on having this character lamenting on her self-pity, 5% on constant complaining how her best friend and family do her wrong while the other 5% plotting vengeance on them. She is also one of the most selfish female character and a hypocrite. She keeps b!tching about how her “best friend” is a terrible person, yet, all the while she is plotting on getting back at her. I can’t imagine anyone with an ounce of moral would root for this character. She is pathetic, cunning, and just right out despicable. You want to feel good when the story comes to a close or if the story is good, you don’t want it to end. But the ending makes me despise the main character even more (I didn’t know it was possible) and feel relieved it is over,
