Historia
Maxwell Thornton isn’t a people person, but that never mattered to him because he’d lived for his job. After losing a patient during an operation, he’s afraid to pick up the scalpel again. He resigns his position in the city and takes a job as sole GP in the isolated town of Rainy Dale, Texas, population 1,001. Rainy Dale is populated with eccentrics who test his patience and seem to think he’s not only there to treat their illnesses, but that he’s also there to be their therapist. When one of his most annoying patients ends up dead in his pool, he has some explaining to do.

fake southern accents are so annoying
Revisado: 04-22-22
I love these books. I just wish that narrator was someone else. Royce comes across wooden, and his southern accent is so fake it's annoying. the narrator also seems short of breath. he reads in this annoying fake accent wooden breathless voice for one of the main characters. ruins the whole book. shame I was really excited about this series coming to audiobook

Historia
When therapist Jill Davent moved to the village of Carsely, Agatha Raisin was not a fan. Not only was this therapist romancing Agatha's ex-husband, she dug up details of Agatha's not-too-glamorous origins. Jill also counsels a woman, Gwen Simple, that Agatha firmly believes assisted her son in some grisly murders, although there is no proof. Not one to keep her feelings to herself, Agatha tells anyone who will listen that Jill is a charlatan and better off dead.

Agatha Raisin shouldn’t have a child’s squeaky voice or a lisp. Please please find a different narrator.

Historia
Even though Agatha Raisin loathes amateur dramatics, her friend Mrs. Bloxby, the vicar's wife, has persuaded her to support the local pantomime. Stifling a yawn at the production of Babes in the Woods, Agatha watches as the baker, playing an ogre, struts and threatens on the stage. Then a trapdoor opens… followed by a scream and then silence. Surely, this isn't the way the scene was rehearsed?

Love the book, but I don’t think Agatha Raisin should have a lisp.
Revisado: 02-09-21
The lisp on the narrator drove me crazy. Maybe I’m just spoiled by Penelope being such a wonderful narrator for these books.

Historia
In the distant future, humans wage war against the alien planet Caeorleia, with no tactic off-limits if it will help the humans get their hands on Caeorleia's resources. Ask Ryker. He thought he volunteered for a simple experiment that would help his government in the war. He didn't realize sadistic doctors would turn him into the experiment - by injecting him with blood from a captured Caeorleian, Seral Iorflas.

Liked the book....
Revisado: 02-04-21
I liked the book. The author developed the world and the characters very well. The problem I have is with the narrator. Heavy breathing with an asthmatic wheeze and way to nasally was the biggest problem. He seems to have trouble expressing the emotions the characters are feeling in their voices, and everything else is overly dramatic. Almost cheesy. It’s like he’s trying way to hard. This did get a bit better as the story progressed. As a asthmatic myself let me suggest breathing exercises, and to stop talking so nasally to stop the heavy breathing that sometimes makes him hard to understand. It’s especially bad when he tries (without success) to make different voices. I actually have this paperback. I got the audio book mainly for when I drive and to figure out how to pronounce certain words.
