Historia
If there's something Ravenna Chastain knows, it's when to end things. And after she almost winds up the victim of a cult that believes she's a witch, it's easy to walk away from her dead-end career, ready for a new start. But where to find a job that would allow her to use her very specialized skill set? The answer is clear: she becomes a matchmaker. But even a successful matchmaker can't find someone for everyone, and Ravenna considers Ethan Sweetwater her first professional failure. After nine failed dates, Ravenna knows it's time to cut Ethan loose.

Couldn't make it to the end
Revisado: 09-23-22
Sad! This book is no more than snippets from others books in the series, all combined to create a mess. The result is boring unimaginative and a waste of time. I know its fantasy and romance but really the author could give some credit to the readers and at least try to provide an entertaining and coherent storyline.

Not every danger comes in the form of a mega-threat like a Titan. Some predators are a lot cozier...more personal. When one such creature threatens an independent tutor, Harry Dresden must shake off the blood and dirt of his most recent battles and rise to the occasion, even when it turns out that the new predator is far more dangerous and connected than first appearances would suggest.

Blast from the past!
Revisado: 08-08-22
I wanted to hate it,. No James Marsters, another vignette, not even a full length story for my audible credit. Yeah I was determined not to buy this one.
But within the first 2 minutes of the story I was back in Chicagoland being pulled into another Dresden dilemma which was bound to end in antics and mayhem. Law reminded me of why I fell in love with this series. Definitely worth the listen/read!
As a side note Jim Butcher was a fair narrator, most author narrators are a disaster. Although when I don't have time to actuay read a Dresden book Marsters is the only voice I want to hear.

Cormac and Amelia take a job at a quaint Victorian mountain lodge: Keep an eye on the famous psychic there to judge whether the place is haunted. Simple, right? Three problems: The blizzard that snows everyone in for the weekend, the murdered body that shows up in the morning, and the fact that everyone is sure Cormac did it. So much for the nice mountain getaway.

Another great story. I really enjoy the Cormac & Amelia stories, my only complaints is they are too short. Looking forward to the next installment, maybe it will be a full length effort.

Historia
May 1816: Jane Austen is feeling unwell, with an uneasy stomach, constant fatigue, rashes, fevers, and aches. She attributes her poor condition to the stress of family burdens, which even the drafting of her latest manuscript - about a baronet’s daughter nursing a broken heart for a daring naval captain - cannot alleviate. Her apothecary recommends a trial of the curative waters at Cheltenham Spa, in Gloucestershire. Jane decides to use some of the profits earned from her last novel, Emma, and treat herself to a period of rest and reflection at the spa.

Trilogy was great, books not so much
Revisado: 04-11-22
Read and loved the first 3 books. Book for felt like squeezing that last nut of juice from a lemon. You may get a few drops but not really worth the effort. Parts of this book are food and worth reading most is not, there's a lot of repetition and reliving action from original series.
That being said I like parts of this book and still hold out hope the author gets back in track in the next book. I'm not quite done with Alex Hawke yet.

Historia
Four months of wallowing in embarrassed depression should be enough. I’m beginning to realize that no one is who they seem to be, and my life story might be spinning out of my control. It’s time to take a shower, put on a bra, and wear something other than sweatpants. Difficult, but doable. With my friends - real and imaginary - by my side, I need to edit my life before the elusive darkness comes for all of us.

Could not get past chapter 4
Revisado: 10-06-21
I like the picture the book description painted and wanted to give this author a try. Unfortunately the MC spends the three chapters putting herself down, and whining about her bad choices & they way she allowed herself to be treated. I could not take it...maybe I will pick it up again only to find the rest of the book is great. of that happens I will let you know (but I wouldn't hold my breathe)

Historia
Combined for the first time in one volume, here are the first three books in the internationally best-selling Cloak Games series - Cloak Games: Thief Trap, Cloak Games: Frost Fever, and Cloak Games: Rebel Fist, and the bonus short story "Wraith Wolf". The High Queen of the Elves has conquered Earth, but I don't care about that. I don't care about the High Queen, or the rebels seeking to overthrow her. All I care about is getting my baby brother the treatments he needs to recover from his potentially fatal disease...and those treatments have a steep price.

Narrator Ruined It
Revisado: 06-02-21
I had to stop listening, I could not take this narrator any longer. Seems like a good story with great world building, and interesting chsracters. But every voice is sweet & soft even when the character is speakunf about the fear of torture it sounds mire like Mary Poppins reading to the kiddies.

Wanted to love it
Revisado: 04-03-21
A post apocalyptic story without a ton of gralprac violence, gore and NO zombies, what's not to like. Unfortunately this author went too far in the other direction. Thwe book need .ore dynamic characters, reality of the reality of human behavior, more resistance, more drama, more action. Just more. I kept reading hoping something interesting would happen but it
never did.

Historia
The first pulse occurred in the old calendar year of 2022. A sequence of gigantic solar flares created a series of massive electromagnetic pulses that stopped the heart of our modern world and returned us to the Dark Ages. Tens of thousands died within the first few hours as airplanes fell from the skies, hospitals ceased to work, and every form of modern transportation ground to a halt. Marine Master Gunnery Sergeant Nathaniel Hogan finds that the huge amounts of Gamma radiation in the solar flares have enhanced his natural abilities.

Revisado: 06-02-20
I like the storyline, apocalypse, magic, time travel and multi dimension. There's basic problem characters & workd building too shallow, narrator sucked and I'm not pl dying 1 credit/$20 buck for a 4 hour book.
