Worth a Go
Revisado: 12-10-22
It was an interesting story. It reminded me a lot of Nevernight but with less violence and sarcasm. I disliked the way it ended, but books like this do tend to end abruptly.
I was not a fan of the narrators voices for most of the characters, especially any male ones.

Historia
I killed my first victim at thirteen years old - my age, not his. He was going to rape me, him and a couple of his friends. And so, I killed him. And then.... I killed again. And again. At seventeen, I'm killing four to six times a year - maybe more. Don't stress out. I only go after the pedophiles and rapists. There are more out there than I could cover in a lifetime. Saying I did this on my own would be selfish. Enforcing justice holds a glory all its own. But now, my lifelong friend and backup, Deegan, has been arrested.

Interesting book terribly read
Revisado: 03-20-20
I enjoyed the story well enough, but the narrator made that difficult. She enunciated many words oddly or too much. The emotion, tone, and cadence didn't seem to fit the story.

This book reads like a modern day Lolita. For whatever that is worth to you.

Historia
Orlando is one of the most unforgettable creations of twentieth-century literature. He emerges as a young man at the court of Queen Elizabeth I and progresses, with breathtaking ease, through three centuries until, by now a woman, she arrives in the bustle and diversion of the 1920's.

so many unanswered questions
Revisado: 10-27-17
As the story continued on, questions kept coming up about the plot and reasons for certain things, but none ever came. I'm sure it was intentional. but I feel like it made it too frustrating to enioy the story.

Surprisingly Good
Revisado: 03-12-17
I got this audiobook on a whim and forgot about it. I wish I had listened to it earlier. The two different narrations was interesting. It added to the story, but took a bit to get used to them. The story was well written and kept my attention. I plan on checking out other books by this author immediately.

Historia
From the satirical pen of one of France's greatest cynics comes the story of Candide - young, innocent, guileless - who is cast upon the world after Baron Thunder-ten-trockh learns that his lusty daughter, Cunegonde, has tried to seduce the young man. The novel chronicles Candide's adventures with his blindly optimistic tutor, Dr. Pangloss, through any number of disastrous experiences, as they search for the answers to life's perennial questions.

I wish I had read this years ago
Revisado: 02-06-16
I bought this book on a whim long ago and quickly forgot about it. I saw it on audible and decided to listen to it. Yes, the story started off ridiculous, and as I wondered where it was going I found myself laughing out loud and getting swept up in the ridiculousness of it all. All is for the best in this story.
