Historia
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

A Dark and Fun Book.
Revisado: 04-14-25
This book is messed up in so many wonderful ways! The narrator did a great job and the effects and voice modifications actually worked well and didn't distract from the listening experience. I'm looking forward to Book 2

Historia
When COVID-19 sweeps through New York City, Jamie Gray is stuck as a dead-end driver for food-delivery apps. That is, until Jamie makes a delivery to an old acquaintance, Tom, who works at what he calls “an animal rights organization”. Tom’s team needs a last-minute grunt to handle things on their next field visit. Jamie, eager to do anything, immediately signs on. What Tom doesn't tell Jamie is that the animals his team cares for are not here on Earth. Not our Earth, at at least. In an alternate dimension, dinosaur-like creatures named Kaiju roam a warm and human-free world.

Get This Book, It's Great!
Revisado: 01-31-25
It's a quick fun ride with a freaking real life Godzilla! Well... you know what I mean. It's well done light sci-fi. It explains just enough to make it feel plausible, while never really explaining anything. It has great humor and Wheaton killed the narration. Him and Scalzi make a great team. If you haven't heard Agent to the Stars yet, you are missing out. It's well worth the listen.

What a Fun Listen!
Revisado: 04-22-23
This book was a really fun and entertaining first contact story.
Scazi's humor is on point, and you can tell that Wheaton is having a lot of fun with the narration and does a stellar job as usual. Like Kramer/Sanderson Scalzi/Wheaton are a great team. This is the 3rd audiobook I've listened to featuring both, and I'm looking forward to more. Redshirts is another example of these two killing it together. That is another audiobook I highly recommend
If you like a light-hearted story that takes the material seriously, while not taking itself seriously, then I think you might also like Agent to the Stars

Sanderson, Kramer, and Reading at Thier Best!
Revisado: 06-11-21
This is a Great story 2 of 3, while still having its own complete narrative. I definitely wanted to know what happened next (thankfully though) not because of a unresolved cliff hanger, and more of a big plot point tease for book three. One of my all time favorite trilogies! Great character development, amazing world building, crazy action, and plot twist that make you want to read the whole thing again. I could not recommend Sanderson as an author more. He is truly one of the greats of our generation, and this trilogy is among his best works.

Living and slaving in Fill City One, you get used to the smell. We call it the Everpresent Stink. But every once in a while, on a spring day with a breeze, it clears away enough to remind us that there is something more out there. Most Fillers' wildest dreams would be just to get past the walls and live in the mainland. But my dream? It’s a little bigger. I’m going to Mars.

Millions of people visit xkcd.com each week to read Randall Munroe's iconic webcomic. His stick-figure drawings about science, technology, language, and love have a large and passionate following. Fans of xkcd ask Munroe a lot of strange questions. What if you tried to hit a baseball pitched at 90 percent of the speed of light? How fast can you hit a speed bump while driving and live? If there were a robot apocalypse, how long would humanity last?

An RPG come to life.
Revisado: 10-19-17
I have to say this book was quite fun. I might even go 4.5 if it were and option. There were a few turn offs for me here and there, like the main character being a bit to good at times. It's really not brought to the forefront to often in this book, but is one thing for me that gets over done in these types of fantasy stories.
The magic and fighting of magical creatures in this book feels almost exactly like playing an RPG video game. They even go into Towers where each level gets progressively harder, the way they keep track of how much mana each person has and as it increases they reach new power levels that jumps their over all capability and defences like leveling up in a game. It had me rolling my eyes a bit at first but after getting into the book it really works in the system of magic for this world, and I found my self really enjoying it. The variety in the magical system is something I really enjoyed as well. The main character isn't really a bad ass but more of a clever problem solver that has powerful friends who he gets to make magical items for.

Not the right narrator, but great book.
Revisado: 02-15-17
This is a great book and I was very exited to get it on audio as it was one of my favorites from my high school days, but it's my personal feeling that Scott Brick was just not the right narrator. He is great for the right book, for example his work on the Ender series is spot on and part of what make that audiobook so great. For this though his voice is to mellow, far to often I found myself in the middle of a scene and it was just not as exciting as it should have been, and upon thinking of why I came to the realization that it was the narration. it was still a good enough listen but could have been far better with a narrator like Micheal Kramer or Nick Podehl.

I really liked the world building and the set up but I would have to say in the end your left feeling a bit underwelmed. I will definitely get the next book and want to see where this all goes but it feels incomplete.
