Historia
"Arguably the most distinctive feature of the early Christian literature," writes Bart Ehrman, "is the degree to which it was forged." The Homilies and Recognitions of Clement; Paul's letters to and from Seneca; Gospels by Peter, Thomas, and Philip; Jesus' correspondence with Abgar, letters by Peter and Paul in the New Testament - all forgeries. To cite just a few examples.

Exhaustive in its detail and research
Revisado: 07-02-20
After spending years just reading highlights regarding the sometimes forged writings of the early Christian era, I decided to delve into this actual study of the subject. If this is a topic that interests you, the depth of the detail and research will definitely satisfy your need for "the whole story."

Historia
It all started with a storm, a real gully washer, the type that comes racing across the plains with driving rain, howling winds, and hail as big as your fist. If it hadn't been for the stranger in buckskins, the Jakes family would have been in serious trouble. Little did they know, the storm was just the beginning of their struggles. They'd come to Colorado to raise a new breed of horse. Along the trail they would follow were new friends, old enemies, and the land. At times it was hard to tell which ones were the most dangerous.

Looking forward to more
Revisado: 02-23-18
Mr. Voss has woven a story out of history and fiction that appeals to us raised on westerns and books about the old west. He puts a lot of time into his period research and it shows in his work.
My only complaint is with the narration. Sound quality was excellent but I hope the narrator improves his skill before the next book.
I know Edd will be writing more and I look forward to it and wish him great success.

Historia
London’s Slough House is where the washed-up MI5 spies go to while away what’s left of their failed careers. The “"low horses", as they’re called, have all disgraced themselves in some way to get relegated here. But now the slow horses have a chance at redemption. An old Cold War-era spy is found dead on a bus outside Oxford, far from his usual haunts. The despicable, irascible Jackson Lamb is convinced Dickie Bow was murdered. As the agents dig into their fallen comrade’s circumstances, they uncover a shadowy tangle of ancient Cold War secrets.

Historia
Slough House is a dumping ground for British intelligence agents who've screwed up cases in any number of ways - by leaving a secret file on a train or blowing a surveillance. River Cartwright, one such "slow horse", is bitter about his failure and about his tedious assignment transcribing cell phone conversations. When a young man is abducted and his kidnappers threaten to broadcast his beheading live on the Internet, River sees an opportunity to redeem himself.

I have no idea why it took me so long to discover this author and series. The prose and storyline are refreshing in the espionage genre and I instantly became a fan.

Historia
The first major bioterror event in the United States - the anthrax attacks in October 2001 - was a clarion call for scientists who work with "hot" agents to find ways of protecting civilian populations against biological weapons. In The Demon in the Freezer, his first nonfiction book since The Hot Zone, a number-one New York Times best seller, Richard Preston takes us into the heart of USAMRIID, the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

fascinating
Revisado: 04-12-17
The performance of the audio is good but there are some editing mistakes Within. Some passages are repeated and some splicing was slightly off. Otherwise, it was a really good job. The book itself is fascinating and should be read by anyone interested in chemical warfare or the use of biological agents in terrorist attacks.

After five years on the run, Court Gentry is back on the inside at the CIA. But his first mission makes him wish he had stayed on the outs when a pair of Chinese agents try to take him down in Hong Kong. Normally the Chinese prefer to stay eyes-only on foreign agents. Another Gray Man Hit.
Revisado: 02-24-17
The Gray Man is a not so secret guilty pleasure of mine. The stories usually play out at a breakneck pace and there's plenty of action for us lovers of literary violence. Gunmetal Gray is no different. Twists, turns, double cross after double cross, this one has it all. The only thing I hate about being up to speed on Gray Man is having to wait for the next installment.

Another fantastic ride.
Revisado: 01-12-17
At 19 hours 44 minutes, TF&A is second in length only to Lucifer's Hammer in my audio library. Because I typically use Audible while driving for work, it took me a couple of weeks to get through it. With any book of this size, you expect there to be long periods of dull, meandering dialog or background info dumps. Greaney doesn't do that in this book and that's an amazing feat.
Greaney continues to impress me and his work just seems to improve with each book. I always look forward to his next offering.
Scott Brick, again, does a great job on the narration and should be a standard to which others aspire. The production seems to be flawless.
Highly recommend this book.

Great series
Revisado: 11-09-16
I only recently discovered this series. But, already, Shae has written more about the emotional toll of catastrophe and survival than most of the other current post-apocalyptic novels I have read combined.
This is a really good series that has the potential to be a long-running one.
I have to say that the narration is not very impressive in this book. The narrator did a very poor editing job and there are many glaringly obvious errors Within. He has potential so I hope his work improves.

Historia
In the year 2030 the Maunder Minimum, a period of solar inactivity, will cause a mini-ice age like it did between the years 1645 and 1710. When it does, Bishop will have to save her not only from the effects of severe weather but also from man himself. Maeve Tildon and her son Ben live alone in the rural town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Since her husband died in the war, she's barely kept her head above water, and when the first freeze strikes in the fall, she's completely unprepared for what lies ahead.

A WORLD GONE COLD
Revisado: 11-07-16
In Surrender, A.R. Shaw introduces you to a world filled with horrors. The Maunder Minimum is a phenomenon I have researched over the years and it is just as likely a threat as any other form of catastrophe. Every year, more people die due to exposure to cold than do exposure to heat. A frightening proposition.
There are far too few female voices in this genre and I am pleased to have found this one. This is a great opener to what I expect will be a great series.
Pierce does a good job with the narration, as usual, but excels in the editing, which is where many narrators fail. Clear, clean, and easy to listen to.
I recommend this Book and I look forward to the next installment.
