Historia
Sam and Sadie—two college friends, often in love, but never lovers—become creative partners in a dazzling and intricately imagined world of video game design, where success brings them fame, joy, tragedy, duplicity, and, ultimately, a kind of immortality. It is a love story, but not one you have heard before.

Strange but soothing story
Revisado: 01-05-23
If you are looking for excitment and plot twists, this book is not for you. The 25+ year story of 2 video game designers is mellow with very few ups or downs (except for one event near the end). The book simply follows their lives and relationships as they create games starting in the 1990s. The reactions by these characters to certain events aren't always realistic, even given they are quirky people. I found it easy to listen to but wasn't always eager to get back to it.

Historia
Reeling from a traumatic break-in, Emma wants a new place to live. But none of the apartments she sees are affordable or feel safe. Until One Folgate Street. The house is an architectural masterpiece: a minimalist design of pale stone, plate glass, and soaring ceilings. But there are rules. The enigmatic architect who designed the house retains full control: no books, no throw pillows, no photos or clutter or personal effects of any kind. The space is intended to transform its occupant—and it does.

Thin storyline, but entertaining
Revisado: 03-04-22
This psychological thriller is told from the perspective of 2 female tenants of a unique house in London. There is the woman who lived there before and the woman who lives there in the present. The girl before died in the house and much of the book is about figuring out the circumstances of her death. Another character is the house itself. I didn't find the ending very satisfying, but the book was entertaining.

Entertaining but lots of plot holes
Revisado: 01-20-21
Entertaining psychological thriller about a woman dealing with trauma and psychological issues as well as a mysterious male tenant. The book kept me entertained but I had problems with believability and clear plot holes which were never explained. if you can overlook those then this book may be enjoyable

Entertaining, read, if a bit too long
Revisado: 07-29-20
Good for fans of Liana Moriarty. Story about a feature writer becoming obsessed with a young woman in a vegetative state and going on to seek justice on her behalf. The narrative moves between two times, 1995 and 2010, and from the perspective of a number of characters which helps keep the story moving along. It's not hard to figure out who the bad guy is, but that doesn't take away from wanting to see how the characters figure it out. I thought the story could have moved a little faster with some trimming of fat, but that did not seriously impede its quality. Narrator was amazing.

Plot about corporate espionage. Personalities play a big part and the characters are rich and interesting. Some edge-of-your-seat scenes. you must work to suspend your disbelief as it is far fetched. but if you can do so, it's a fun ride

Entertaining if a bit unbelievable
Revisado: 04-03-19
Had to work hard to suspend my disbelief for this book. It had lots of twists and some interesting characters. However the key characters were too perfect to be believed and their behavior was too dramatic for the situation. You want to finish it because it has some decent mysteries that you will want to have answered, but you'll have to wade thru a lot of unnecessary and/or drawn-out scenes to get there. I wish Harlan Coben had not told us that this was his first book in the beginning of the recording. It made me look for errors. An announcement at the end would have been better.

Can There Be Too Many Twists
Revisado: 01-13-19
Before I get into the details, go ahead and get this audiobook and listen. You'll enjoy it; in fact it's hard to turn off as you wait to hear the resolution of the mystery. As usual, Coben is deep into the characters; plot is interesting but somewhat secondary. The protagonist is a criminal prosecutor with a Russian history who works with a scrappy investigator to look into 20 year old murders at a summer camp run by an old hippy. As opposed to the other Coben books I've listened too, this one seemed to have too many plot lines (and too many characters) making it was difficult to keep them all straight. I believe this book would have worked better if simplified, but it's still an entertaining listen.

Historia
The Indignities of Being a Woman candidly traces the history of womanhood and investigates how much things have really changed for womankind. By carefully x-raying areas such as body image, marriage, mental illness, fashion, and politics, this audiobook examines what it was like to be a woman in the past versus what it’s like now, when women are constantly told equality between the sexes exists but reality proves otherwise.

Every Woman Needs to Hear this Book!
Revisado: 01-07-19
Ok, I knew we women had it bad but . . .Good God! Hearing all of the discriminatory laws and religious tenets evoked against women since the dawn of man is enough to make one run into the streets screaming. There isn't a dull moment in this book. The research that went into it had to be enormous. The authors provide statistical evidence to back up their facts from as far back as ancient times. I was fascinated with every fact, figure and story these ladies laid on me. Now, usually I don't like books where the authors read, but for this one, the authors made it better. And the additions of short musical numbers was a hoot, making it all that much more fun. Get this book ladies, and all intelligent men too; you will not regret it.

When they met at an airport, it was love at first sight. But in time, everything collapsed. As an unnamed but unforgettable woman muses on her life—from meet cute to marriage and parenthood—her recollections inexorably build to a devastating truth. In this shattering performance, Carey Mulligan, star of the critically lauded drama An Education, captivates audiences with playwright Dennis Kelly’s harrowing ruminations on family, ambition, gender, and violence.

Mind-blowing Monologue
Revisado: 12-17-18
I was unsure of this Audible Original when I first started it, but soon it grabbed me. I loved the main character-- she is funny, snarky and very real. Her telling of her story felt natural and inviting. Carey Mulligan does a fabulous job of bringing her to life. The twist is totally unexpected--partly because the format fools you a bit and partly because it's just so shocking. Highly recommend this original.

Fabulous Story, Incredible Performance
Revisado: 12-16-18
The entire Joe Ledger series read by Ray Porter is one of the most entertaining series of Audiobooks I've ever experienced. I'm not generally a fan of soldier fiction, be it war or special ops. This series however blends thrilling technology/ science fiction with exciting actions scenes and characters you know and love. There is never a dull moment. I eagerly await the next installment and will be trolling Audible to see it pop up. Get writing Mr. Mayberry. Your fans can't wait for Act II!
