Historia
It seems like any other day. You wake up, drink a cup of coffee, and head out. But today, when you open your front door, waiting for you is a small wooden box. The contents of this mysterious box tells you the exact number of years you will live. From suburban doorsteps to desert tents, every person on every continent receives the same box. In an instant, the world is thrust into a collective frenzy. Where did these boxes come from? What do they mean? Is there truth to what they promise?

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

just ok

this ook started out ok but quickly went into the gutter. How many times I do we have to read the Lord's name in vain and gutter words over and over. I lost interest very quickly. I wish I had my credit back.

Historia
Amanda and Clay head out to a remote corner of Long Island expecting a vacation: a quiet reprieve from life in New York City, quality time with their teenage son and daughter, and a taste of the good life in the luxurious home they’ve rented for the week. But a late-night knock on the door breaks the spell. Ruth and G. H. are an older couple—it’s their house, and they’ve arrived in a panic. They bring the news that a sudden blackout has swept the city. But in this rural area—with the TV and internet now down, and no cell phone service—it’s hard to know what to believe.

You are a failed novelist about to turn 50. A wedding invitation arrives in the mail: Your boyfriend of the past nine years is engaged to someone else. You can't say yes - it would be too awkward - and you can't say no - it would look like defeat. On your desk are a series of invitations to half-baked literary events around the world. Question: How do you arrange to skip town? Answer: You accept them all.

nail bitting!
Revisado: 01-04-17
I loved this suspenseful story! I couldn't stop listening. Using the soundtrack with the reading was so effective that I found my self in the storyline and at times was so taken in as to forget where I was. This will be among my most recommended books ever! I only hope Audible applies more soundtracks to other books of this caliber.

seems the author is preoccupied with vial sex.
Revisado: 11-07-16
to be fair I didn't get past the first 5 chapters, the abusive sex was alarming and referred to way to often. I felt like I wasted good money and precious time. it could have been a decent book but the abuse to women felt like the main theme.

Historia
Audie Award, Humor, 2016. In Furiously Happy, number-one New York Times best-selling author Jenny Lawson explores her lifelong battle with mental illness. A hysterical, ridiculous book about crippling depression and anxiety? That sounds like a terrible idea. But terrible ideas are what Jenny does best.

Sorry I bought this book.
Revisado: 03-10-16
What disappointed you about Furiously Happy?
Crude language, immature story line and not intertaining. This book is a waists of time.
What could Jenny Lawson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Clean up her language and talk like an adult.
What didn’t you like about Jenny Lawson’s performance?
Her narration sounded like a junior high girl.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I felt that I waisted my money and time. I was annoyed at the the endless rants and at attempting humor that wasn't funny.
Any additional comments?
I only gave it a 1 star because there wasn't any less to give. This book was picked for my book club, I'll just skip that months discussion as I never even read half.

Would you try another book from Katherine Dunn and/or Christina Moore?
I hate this book. It is so sick and criminal to purposely breed genetic deformities. There was nothing entertaining about this nauseating book in the least.
What was most disappointing about Katherine Dunn’s story?
