Historia
Space travel just isn't what it used to be. With the invention of quantum teleportation, space heroes aren't needed anymore. When one particularly unlucky ex-adventurer masquerades as famous pilot and hate figure Jacques McKeown, he's sucked into an ever-deepening corporate and political intrigue. Between space pirates, adorable deadly creatures, and a missing fortune in royalties, saving the universe was never this difficult!

Funny and full of puerile jokes
Revisado: 08-06-24
I love ZP / Fully Ramblomatic mostly because of Yahtzee’s writing, so I knew I was going to love this- I say, at risk of sounding like an uncritical fanboy. To assuage my fan status somewhat, I’ll say that I knew I would love it no matter if it was good or not. And thankfully it is good. It’s exciting, it’s funny, the fact that the main characters hate each other is a really funny dynamic. I recommend.

No matter the subject, Vonnegut will have you considering perspectives you may never have regarded. On the creative process: "If you want to really hurt your parents...the least you can do is go into the arts. I'm not kidding."

Yes it’s good- it’s Vonnegut
Revisado: 06-04-24
Boy I thought I was cynical. Ordinarily, I love Vonnegut’s sarcasm, but this felt more like a tired old man’s screed without a point than a biting satire. But I don’t find the cynicism objectionable; in fact it’s pretty well understandable and sad.
It’s still screamingly funny.

Historia
The first love song in the world, as composed by a pig in the Garden of Eden. The Devil, alarmed when his hobby of writing romantic fiction begins to upstage his day job. Hearts kept in Tupperware boxes, small countries that vanish from the European mainland overnight, and a kidnapper who gets more than he bargained for when his victim associates him with George Clooney. It could only be Robert Shearman's Love Songs for the Shy and Cynical.

The stories themselves.
Revisado: 05-15-24
The stories are imaginative, the humor is bleak and idiosyncratic, and the overall discussion of Love is neither shy nor cynical.

Bizarre, Weird and Wonderful Classic
Revisado: 04-23-24
It’s all there in the title. Enjoy it for the weird and wacky classic work of Gothic fiction it is.
