Historia
In the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. But Circe is a strange child—not powerful, like her father, nor viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to the world of mortals for companionship, she discovers that she does possess power—the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters and menace the gods themselves.

Like a dictionary of adjectives.

Almost nothing happens in this book!
There must be other ways to write a book with a female protagonist that don't involve the main character just hooking up with important people and kicking dirt on an island.
Using the phrase "touseled hair" a lot doesn't make a book good!
Technically, there is a plot, and it is possible to get through, but it could have been so much more!

In this collection, you will enjoy the epic stories of ancient Mesopotamia that echoed through other great works like the Bible and The Odyssey. The Sumerian belief system offers a fascinating insight into the lives of these ancient people as they struggled to establish the first empires of man.

Very well dissected summary of Mesopotamian mythology. Used this for book research. Would definitely recommend to others.

Objectively Bad
Revisado: 12-01-20
I was excited to find this book since I have found Michael Page to be one of the best readers, and have been disappointed by very few of the books he has read. Even his narration, however, does little to save this book. I'm not sure why so many people seem to have given it fantastic reviews. The story begins with a "man-boar" who has invaded the human realm in the knowledge that one of the protagonist's will ask the elves in their realm for help defeating it. Evidently, despite being immortal, the elves are all morons, as they agree to this because they have a dubious tradition called the "elf hunt." The entire plot is intertwined with a tedious and cringe-inducing love story. There is no world-building or pacing. Dialogue is bad. Normally, I wouldn't review things poorly, but the review of this one make me question the validity of all book reviews on audible.
