Great ending
Revisado: 07-07-24
Great storyline. You do guess that it will be similar in nature of crime investigated but not the actual crime. Closure at the end was very well detailed. Liked that the detective had such a good moral character.

Historia
When the body of wealthy businessman Charles Stott is found dead on Wimbledon Common, covered in bruises just feet away from his luxury home, Detective Dan Lockhart is called to investigate the shocking scene. Examining the sickeningly disfigured body before him, Lockhart knows he’s dealing with a brutal killer. Looking more closely, he notices something on the victim’s neck: a small, crudely drawn symbol in black ink. It seems the murderer has marked his victim, but why? Dan needs to get inside the perpetrator’s mind, so he contacts psychologist Dr. Lexi Green.

The detective seems to always get the person he is after. Lexi Green is always in the middle and not taken seriously.

Historia
As Detective Dan Lockhart is called to a wealthy London street to investigate Natasha’s death, he’s startled by the similarity to a previous case. Noticing the cable-tie restraints and the tiny scratches on Natasha’s wedding finger, Dan already knows what he will find if he looks in her mouth - the metal ball which choked her to death. Months earlier, Kim Hardy was found in the same position in a run-down hotel across the city - an identical silver ball in her throat. But Kim’s murderer was caught and sent to prison - did they arrest the wrong man?

The antagonist was so twisted
Revisado: 07-01-24
It kept my interest and I did stay up late to finish it. I enjoyed the interesting supporting character to the protagonist Dan. She was head strong and offered much to the story. Strange dynamics though.

The scandals that might have been
Revisado: 06-29-24
I really liked the way the secret love child’s parents were canceled to most. It was good the way people could overlook someone’s ethnicity/origin of birth. Later those same people would overlook the island’s teacher’s secret in much the same way. Excepting people without passing harsh judgement. Loved that theme in the book.

Amazing twist on the fairytales
Revisado: 01-09-24
I absolutely loved the author’s characterization of the Hansel and Gretel grown up. It was hysterical at times due to the Gretel character and the drop in of other fairytale characters.

Decent
Revisado: 05-02-20
The characters are the same throughout the series a little too many times. It almost feels like you're ready the same book in the beginning of each of the books. The scene is the same. The island is the setting I get that, it is des driving the island and the characters over and over. Needs to be raised to an adult level reading.
