Historia
Vida Toujours has struggled all of her life, working hard for everything she's ever earned, using her all-consuming job as a Chicago doctor to numb herself against the emptiness she carries inside. Overprotective of her heart, Vida pushes people away, and despite her loneliness, she's made an art of remaining detached and disconnected. Then she receives an unexpected letter from France.

A truly engaging and romantic love story.
Revisado: 05-26-16
If you could sum up French Lessons in three words, what would they be?
Engaging, bittersweet and enjoyable.
What did you like best about this story?
The writer uses tension for both the mystery and the romantic parts of this story very well.
Which scene was your favorite?
I'm not sure but it's probably any scene that had the character of Renee in it because I half fell in love with her myself while reading this story. Also I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that her physical description bears more than a passing resemblance to Alex Kingston and sounds like a beloved TV character named River Song ;)
If you could rename French Lessons, what would you call it?
There you are love! What took you so long.
Any additional comments?
One of my favorite audio books! This is beautiful love story with a strong mysterious under current. I can't wait for more of this author's work to become audio books as this is the only one out at the moment.

Historia
When a young drifter is found murdered in the desert outside of Palm Springs, the police start their investigation - but it's crime reporter Sam Perry who gets to the bottom of the story. Working her way backward to piece together the victim's mysterious life, Sam gets drawn into the seedier side of the glamorous resort town, a world of strip clubs, blackmail, and betrayal. All suspicions point toward former A-list actress and now mayoral candidate Ellen Konrad, a woman that Sam can't quite figure out.

One of my FAVORITE audio books!
Revisado: 04-14-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Deadline to be better than the print version?
I never read the print version so I can't really say but I loved the audio book.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Sam Perry, I found her to be the right amount of capable, talented and intelligent. She was a fantastic protagonist!
Have you listened to any of Julia Farhat’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No I haven't but I may give them a shot.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Sam Perry will beat the Deadline to catch a killer.
Any additional comments?
This was a great mystery mixed with a great lesbian love story. However, the mystery aspect was stronger than the love story which I didn't mind, because you can find many a good lesbian love story but not very many that incompasses both (mystery and love story) as well as this author does.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Exceptional!
Revisado: 11-25-15
What made the experience of listening to The Martian the most enjoyable?
The Characters. The way the author wrote this story makes me want to hang out with the individuals who make up the characters of this book.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Martian?
There were many. This story is full of many dangerous situations that the protaganist has to think his way out of. Space exploration is not even close to being in my wheelhouse but the author did a superb job of making it believable to me.
Also the humor! This book has lots of little funny moments in it to help ease the inherent tension of the situation that the main character finds himself in.
What does R. C. Bray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I loved how well Mr. Bray's voice fit the main character. His voice sounds strong and is what I would expect from an astronaut.
He also did a good job with the numerous accents used for various men but I think his register is just too low to be able to do a superb job with the women's voices, but that doesn't mean it wasn't decent and it's not like it took me out of the story or anything. However, there were times I found it hard to distinguish one woman from another and I'm glad they usually clarified who was speaking by having someone say their name.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The Martian: Or how I got stranded on Mars and learned to love the 70's
Any additional comments?
The author did a great job of making (most of) his characters truly feel three dimensional.
