Historia
When Jonathon Roth and his family are invited by their neighbors, the Beasleys, to join them at a luxury retreat in Cozumel, who can refuse? It’s the perfect winter getaway. Relaxing on the beach, gourmet food, sightseeing, and free accommodations. But if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Villa Sara de Calakmul, owned by mysterious tycoon Jacob Calakmul, is more isolated compound than private resort. Armed guards patrol the jungle perimeters. Pictures of previous guests—long disappeared—adorn the walls.

Great content, and keeps you interested. Not the greatest narrator. She does accents well, but the rest of it is a little lacking.

Like nothing you've ever heard
Revisado: 07-05-22
I've read thousands of books, and listened to thousands more. But this was unlike anything I'd ever heard before. such a heart-warming/heart-rending story both at once. Incredible. The narrator is also one of the best I've ever heard. It's like your sitting next to your Grandmother hearing tales of her past life. Would give more stars if I could!

Historia
Narrated by Emmy Award–winning actor Martin Sheen, The Home Front: Life in America During World War II takes listeners into the lives of Americans at home—part of the Greatest Generation—who supported the war effort and sustained the country during wartime. The war brought immediate, life-changing shifts: the rationing of meat, dairy products, and sugar; an explosion of war-related jobs; and, despite mixed signals, a greater role for women working outside the home.

So well done.
Revisado: 01-23-20
This book was so informative, and done in such a way, that I'll remember all the facts for the rest of my life. You learn about World War 2, and segregation in high school, but most teachers skip over the nitty gritty. The ACTUAL radio clips of real survivors, and of Hitler, and president Roosevelt are amazing.

They brought history to life.
Revisado: 12-11-19
I never seem to remember anything Historical, unless it is something I personally find fascinating. I didn't have high hopes for this one, since it was about a historical figure I didn't know much about. It was phenomenal. They acted it out in such a way, that vividly brought Marie Curie to life. And managed, in a short space of time to cover some of her most brilliant works.
