Historia
Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date. But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.

Historia
For 10 years Kathryn Sermak was at Bette Davis's side - first as an employee, and then as her closest friend - and in Miss D and Me she tells the story of the great star's harrowing but inspiring final years, a story fans have been waiting decades to hear. Miss D and Me is a story of two powerful women, one at the end of her life and the other at the beginning. As Bette Davis aged she was looking for an assistant, but she found something more than that in Kathryn: A loyal and loving buddy, a co-conspirator in her jokes and schemes, and a competent assistant.

Second grade teacher
Revisado: 04-18-24
I’m a Betty Davis fan … thinking the book on her life would be interesting .. but the author read book was uninteresting . She read her own words like a second grade teacher would read to her class . …. Slow with minimal expression about her own life and friend

Remembering
Revisado: 04-03-24
I was in middle school and high school during this war … watching the war on TV with Walter Cronkite and Harry Reasoner . I too am a nurse and with that very proud and very respectful for all that Francis and her fellow nurses lived through over in that God forsaken land .
I cried my way through this book often having to put it away … far away as I experienced my own PTSD as a pediatric ICU RN for most of my career . What nurses do here at home in our country never ever compared to what those nurses did in war … but I could feel all too well Frankie’s love and sorrow in her work . Nursing is an art form and as I read these words …. I felt like Picasso …. God’s speed to all who served and suffered

Historia
Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his Black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?
