MINOR SPOILERS, NOTHING EARTH SHATTERING
A very solid continuation to the Wraith's Haunt series! I was hoping a bit more of Ed's adventures back on earth with his powers, and abuse of them, but unfortunately it was more of in the side notes... The cliffhanger from book 4 was what kept me coming back year after year to this series, and hoping Hugo was still alive and well, so cutting "short" the earth chapter felt a bit disappointing.
The battle was long and hard fought for half of the book, and while I got the necessity towards the end (establishing the characters and their backstories, motivations etc.), I got the feeling at some point like "When's this going to have a conclusion?"
Thank you for the editors/sound booth theater/ author for acknowledging the long wait time, and thank you everyone involved for another awesome listen!! I can't wait for the sixth book (sometime within the next 5 years 😂)

What have I got myself into!
Revisado: 11-08-22
While wondering about the next read/listen I might have amidst all the fantasy books I've been munching down with two hands for the past few months, I was craving for some lighter content.
Wishlist flashed some of Rick Griffins work I had added previously there, and hesitated a bit at space/scifi-fantasy setup. Luckily only for a brief moment, as after getting the book nevertheless and listening it through, I can wholeheartedly say DEFINITELY WORTH IT!
Not too heavy on the scifi side, you can easily follow what's happening without the fear of "technical-jargon." Characters have great distinctive personalities, though more building is probably due in future books, for now much is left for imagination. Only downside I'd consider are the character names, as they're not too distinctive from each other's, besides Gurt (or Curt?) so without nay context on their spelling, just listening to the book might cause a bit confusion. Good thing I could check the character names as the book progressed on E621 :D
Story and world building are amazing! Can't wait to continue on the second book, and other takes on the Hayven Celestia universe.
Overall a great listen, even for those a bit hesitant on space-fantasy 👍🏻

Solid beginning, "shock-factor-overuse" ending
Revisado: 07-27-20
This book had me intrigued from the very beginning to the middle section, as I'm sure is the case with many other listeners during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The early stages of world-wide epidemic are eerily similar to the real world as I'm writing this from the safety of a basement :P
Everything in the book is very detailed and well thought through, showing that a great deal of research was done before writing this thing. However, some parts closer to the ending (and towards a slight cliffhanger for a sequel) started suffering more and more of the overuse of "surprise characters". The protagonists start stumbling across so many unnecessary surprises and unexpected characters at some point, that the shock factor for every similar event starts feeling more of a "Oh God, another?" instead of a "*Gasp!* No way!"
Instead of these "revelations" the author could have written in 2 or 3 "not so much related to the protagonists" -characters for the climax, because I feel like this time the story suffered from the excess relations between EVERY single character towards the end. While this book otherwise felt pretty close to the reality we're living in right now, the amount of coincidence-meetings towards the ending undermines that reality-feel, even for a fiction book.
Overall very entertaining book, would recommend for friends, and extra points for a vivid performance!

A bit too many "surprise saves"...
Revisado: 12-12-16
While the book overall was good and entertaining, there were few points in story that could have been improved.
Backstory, characters and overall setup was not all unseen before, but still very enjoyable even as very basic "Tolkien" world of humans, elves, dwarfs magic and dragons. Pacing wasn't too fast, actually it could have proceeded a bit faster imo. Still story kept unfolding nicely.
The main problem why the story didn't get my 5 stars was the overuse of "unexpected encounters and coincidences"... Every time something happens, and the characters are in some sort of danger or chaotic situation, they get saved "miracuously" by someone, something or somehow, and this is where story loses some of its depth. It gets boring after first 2 of these incidents, where something else rather than heroes themselves save them through tactic, use of wits or brute force. Especially when situations look reeeally desperate, rest assured: something MIRACULOUS will save them!... I mean, come on...
Performance was in the better end of narrators, really pleasant to listem, so 5 stars for that!
I'm gonna go right ahead for second book, and hopefully it will have more imaginary ways of solving tight situations through what heroes have atm, instead of relying for so called "roll 20 for Luck to get out of here!"

Historia
Dev is a football player at Forester University, a small liberal arts college where he and his teammates get to strut around and have their pick of the girls on Friday nights. That's as good as it gets - until he meets Lee, a fox with a quick wit and an attractive body. Problem is, Lee's not a girl. He's a gay fox, an activist who never dreamed he'd fall for a football player. As their attraction deepens into romance, it's hard enough for them to handle each other, let alone their inquisitive friends, family, and co-workers.

A must read/listen!!
Revisado: 09-05-16
For anyone looking for a good story, memorable and vivid characters (furry) and/or answers for their sexuality, this book is is truly something you should treasure in your library!
As a young adult who is 95% sure about his sexuality (believe it or not, not homosexual), only experience I had had from Kyell Golds books was "Bridges". Where Bridges was more steamy and sexual action filled "something to fap to" Kind of a book, Waterways was different in a good way. Though less sexual intercourses happened, this book paid itself back with the feels! After the first time listening I just couldn't believe it was over... I wanted more of Kory's and Samaki's story, but unfortunately this is so far (afaik) only book in their story...
Now, after listening it for second time, I (unfortunately) have to leave the book alone for a while, so I can sometime in future truly enjoy the story again!
