Thren Felhorn is the greatest assassin of his time. All the thieves' guilds of the city are under his unflinching control. If he has his way, death will soon spill out from the shadows and into the streets. Aaron is Thren's son, trained to be heir to his father's criminal empire. He's cold, ruthless - everything an assassin should be. But when Aaron risks his life to protect a priest's daughter from his own guild, he glimpses a world beyond piston, daggers, and the iron rule of his father.

Beautifully done

The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks is my favourite series; this is looking like it's going to be a very close second. There are a lot of similarities in world and story, but in the end it's a brand new world to explore and enjoy and I'm so excited for the next book! (I already bought it :3)

Historia
Like every other hobbit, Bilbo Baggins likes nothing better than a quiet evening in his snug hole in the ground, dining on a sumptuous dinner in front of a fire. But when a wandering wizard captivates him with tales of the unknown, Bilbo becomes restless. Soon he joins the wizard’s band of homeless dwarves in search of giant spiders, savage wolves, and other dangers. Bilbo quickly tires of the quest for adventure and longs for the security of his familiar home. But before he can return to his life of comfort, he must face the greatest threat of all.

Simply magnificent.
Revisado: 07-31-18
Rob Inglis is phenomenal. This is exactly how The Hobbit should be read. Absolutely brilliant performance. Most notable to me was the singing; usually in audiobooks that have characters singing, the lyrics are read like a poem. Inglis absolutely nails the melodies of the songs, all while singing in the timbres of the characters themselves; be it a rich bass for the dwarves, a jaunty tenor for the elves, or a staccato growl from the goblins.

Historia
Considered by the author to be his finest work yet, this is a novel of realistic detail, heartfelt emotion, and dazzling imagination that builds a world listeners won't want to leave and spins a tale they won't want to end. In a town of amazing magicks, where the real and the imagined live side by side and the Faerie of legend know the automatons of the future, Time sees all - but even he cannot escape the prophecy of James Hart's return, which can only mean the death of Shadows Fall.

Excellent, but hell of a cliffhanger
Revisado: 04-08-16
Its an amazing story, though I can't say too much without spoiling. Action, ill fated romance, and the downside of superpowers make an interesting combination. My only problem is it does end very abruptly: Feels like the middle of a scene.

Loved the book, love the audiobook
Revisado: 02-21-16
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. I had already read The Warrior Heir years ago, so knew I would enjoy it; Robert Ramirez did an excellent job recounting the story. All my potential complaints are nitpicks at best; occasional pauses that seemed too long, making me thing my headphones had unplugged, occasional difficulty differing between the voices of the younger characters. However, as I stated, such problems are nitpicky at best and manifested themselves at few and far between points during the narrative. Overall, wonderful book and a wonderful performance. I'll be listening to the rest of the series, you can be sure of that!
