I really loved this storyline, characters, and world that the author created for this series! I hope there will be another series or spin-off that will pick up where this book leaves off. I am also very curious about the prequel that the author has started to write about this series.

Honest Review
Revisado: 11-23-21
I loved the first book and couldn't wait for this one! However, this book was a lot slower in action and pretense. The writing was good, but I feel this book was more necessary than enjoyable for the trilogy! I can't say how many times I've read a trilogy and see this happen. The first book is awesome, the second again necessary, but the third blew my mind and then I wanted more. So I am not so quick to criticize, because she is an awesome writer and there were alot of little details needed and revealed through out this book and even if you seen some coming I bet it wasn't in the way you expected. I can't hardly wait for book three and I know the author will come through! Also the audio enhanced this book for me! The narrator did an amazing job and is why I was able to finish this book so quickly. The cliff hanger was tantalizing for sure. It was a brilliant place to leave off till next time. The sister wanting to get vengence dor her sister to maybe wanting revenge and realizing that she never truely new her sister at all and maybe her sis didn't really love her like she thought. However, that's the whole point we don't really know her supposedly dead sister's motivations. End result if you like the first book. then you need to read this book in order to understand the last one!

This book was a brilliantly crafted masterpiece! The story line was exquisitely unpredictable and deliciously addictive. Sarah J. Maas has complete control of her story and style. The world-building was richly developed and intricate. I loved the characters as well. They were fresh, intense, and powerful! The author brilliantly wrote about crucial real-life issues in a fantasy build world without taking away its significance. I really identified with this book; especially, some of the darker aspects. There are some extremely dark and disturbing scenes, but for me it just enhanced my experience of this read. The author truly surpassed my highest expectations of this book. As with all audiobooks the narrator is a major factor, and in this audio they did a great job. I will definitely buy the sequel. The epilogue leaves the reader wondering if Bryce's Boss(the sorceress) and the demon prince(the cat) are plotting to help her or take her down. I think this qualifies as a cliff-hanger. Well, I can wait to find out in the sequel! Credit well spent.

I love all of this series. I admire the way the new characters are intertwined with the old storyline, but leaving so much potential to build upon in future books. In some series after even just three books its like the same old stuff with new names, but in the Hollows no matter how many books are written I believe it will always be like I am transported back in to richly built world that Kim Harrison has created! Credit well spent!

When Raini desperately needed help, she went to the one person who she knew could save her dying friend...her secretive and ruthlessly powerful anchor, Maddox. His price was that she grant him access to her life, yet he's still determined not to form the anchor bond with Raini. That rejection stings, even while she can't stop her body - or her demon - reacting to his presence.

Loved it! The narrator was great and the story as of now is my favorite of the series. I've always been curious to learn more about this main character and was not disappointed. I loved the how it also gives enough of a look into the life style of all the characters from past books, but not enough to overshadow the main plot! What made this book so interesting and fresh was that even though it was the same world and people it was given new information and more world building about things and people all readers wanted to know more about. For instance, the descendants and their prime Maddox. Also, learning about a whole new breed of demons and their way of life and the reasons why they were so isolated and who their enemies are and why the want them dead. The are too many examples to mention. All I can say is if there is another book written I will definitely want to listen to it!

Well, I thought the book would be better. It took me a long time to even finish the book. To me when you have to force yourself to listen, then it isn't keeping your attention. They wasn't a lot of back ground or world building. It was a fantasy, but a lot of the vital information was left in little clues here and there spread far and wide. It was like a bad mystery in a fantasy world. I lonely finished it, because I hate not knowing how things end. The pace was far to slow for me. The narrator did the best they could with what they had to work with.

Honest Opinion
Revisado: 05-07-21
I thought this sequel showed tremendous improvement compared tothe first book! The author's writing proved this through more detail on the characters; which allowed them to become better developed, than in the first novel. You can tell the author spent more time building on details to the world they developed in book one. So, you are able to grasp a better understanding of what is transpiring and it also gives small hints about what could possibly transpire in future novels. There are enough small story lines left untold to leave the reader wondering and wanting more. I will definitely read the next installment. This sequel even incorporated in how the book one; about Raine and Talon, came to be in this story line and how there is room for all the characters current or new to be read about in the third book. The narrator was excellent; which compelled me to give this book the overall rating it deserves.

Honest Review
Revisado: 05-06-21
It was an overall decent listen. The narrator did a good job. However, the story was lacking in more than a few areas. I hope that since this is a series of 9 books that is why there wasn't much said about the characters back stories or the world the are in either. An example would be how Rain and Talon instantly fell in love and became lifemates. Do dragon's know their mate upon sight and scent, or is it something deeper. Their also isn't a history on the types of races that live or lived in this world. We only know that some are thought to be mythical or extinct, but not really the why, except for the ones with purple eyes. I sense a great potential for the sequels if the author expands the amount of detail on characters, the world they live in, and explains the reasons why certain things happen. I also hope to see an improvement in their writing. I look forward to listening to the second book in the series!

I thought the overall plot of the story was a diamond in the rough. It I perfect for the younger audience and keeps your attention. It had s slow build up, but when the action started it didn't disappoint. The narration could be better. It was a little bland, especially for the Oona character. However, it will still be reading the sequel.
