Historia
Freddy Stern, a twenty-one-year-old cashier, has lived a plain, albeit harsh life. Having been orphaned—twice—he's spent the last ten years working and staying out of trouble. His only aspiration is to save enough money to become an archhuman. His dream gets the jump on him when he barely survives a near-death encounter and finds himself in possession of 1% Lifesteal, a bizarre talent with numerous contradictions and just as many uses.

Promising start
Revisado: 03-23-25
The first half I thought about returning.
Lots of random profanity that didn't add anything just felt forced. The second half was much more interesting as overcoming the odds felt like a solid story.
Overall felt a bit fragmented like the first part of the story was written by someone different. If it kept up the feeling from the second half I'd give it a try.
Also some story parts left unanswered so obviously setup for a sequel.

Historia
Reidon Ward's first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he's gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there's no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn't the most terrifying CAD they've ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting. After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived. Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers.

Great storytelling
Revisado: 12-08-23
Overall, a great story. Only thing maybe was a bit of the emotional drama between a few of the people being drawn out a bit. So maybe a few hours could've been cut out, but I enjoyed the whole thing regardless.
Only complain is that I can't binge my way through the entire series and I have to wait😆

Historia
Christmas comes early—far too early—to McCredie’s little Old Town bookshop in Edinburgh. It’s summer, but an American production company has decided that McCredie’s is the perfect location to film a very cheesy Christmas movie. After all, who can resist the charmingly narrow historic street with its Victorian grey stone buildings and warmly lit shop windows? Carmen Hogan, the bookshop’s manager, is amused and a bit horrified by the goings-on, but the money the studio is paying is too good to pass up.

Returning after getting tired of “making house” for far too long
Revisado: 08-29-23
Well, I enjoyed the first and eagerly jumped into the second book. I don’t feel that it’s a similar book. I don’t do a lot of returns, but after listening to over an hour of “making house” I just can’t tolerate any more. I’m serious there’s a lot of shopping, customizing the apartment, and other things that just feel OK in a young adult novel, but not like a litRPG.
One minor issues the dialogue is almost predictable for a few words. Again, I’m really sensitive to this, but there was enough mentions of words like sardonic or smirk, that it really started great.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

Disappointing. It meandared and no real twist to it. Get Relentless instead. This was one like Twilight eyes... I got impatient, and I rarely EVER get impatient with Dean's stuff. Pass on this on.

Historia
Jimmy Tock comes into the world on the very night his grandfather leaves it. As a violent storm rages outside the hospital, Rudy Tock spends long hours walking the corridors between the expectant fathers' waiting room and his dying father's bedside. It's a strange vigil made all the stranger when, at the very height of the storm's fury, Josef Tock suddenly sits up in bed and speaks coherently for the frist and last time since his stroke. What he says before he dies is that there will be five dark days in the life of his grandson.

With each and every new novel, Dean Koontz raises the stakes—and the pulse rate—higher than any other author. Now, in what may be his most suspenseful and heartfelt novel ever, he brings us the story of an ordinary man whose extraordinary commitment to his wife will take him on a harrowing journey of adventure, sacrifice, and redemption to the mystery of love itself—and to a showdown with the darkness that would destroy it forever.

Good Solid Storytelling
Revisado: 08-17-06
Not breathtaking in originality, but a good story none the less. Enjoyed it thoroughly and had some good twists. More of interest to me was the unlikely hero, a gardener, and his street smarts to save his wife.
Very vivid imagery with words, a lot of simile, drew many pictures in the mind.
The narrator was **really** good.
Would recommend, more like a screenplay plot, so would make a great movie...could see Bruce Willis, or Mel Gibson (from earlier movies) doing this type of rescue movie.
