Historia
Quinn Alexander has committed an unthinkable crime. To avoid spending her life in prison, Quinn makes a run for it. She leaves behind her home, her job, and her family. She grabs her passport and heads for the northern border before the police can discover what she's done. But when an unexpected snowstorm forces her off the road, Quinn must take refuge at the broken-down, isolated Baxter Motel. The handsome and kindly owner, Nick Baxter, is only too happy to offer her a cheap room for the night. Unfortunately, the Baxter Motel isn't the quiet safe haven it seemed to be.

Annoying narrarator, dragging story.
Revisado: 01-20-25
The story did not need to drag on so long. At one point you are in the mind of the “killer” with no idea you are in that mind, like how does that work? Also depression is cured by near death, apparently. Also poverty is not an issue as a lot of things can just be bought and changed with no money. High school sweethearts are just perfect for each other after 20+ years for no reason. It all works out perfectly and everything is fine in the end. Could’ve been shortened by about half tbh. So many “twists” but they weren’t shocking or intriguing after just waiting for something to happen for 2-4 hours

Believable
Revisado: 12-18-24
I felt like the characters were very believable even for the insane storytelling. I wish there was more info on a few of the characters and their motives but it was good otherwise.

Historia
Anthony Peardew is the keeper of lost things. Forty years ago he carelessly lost a keepsake from his beloved fiancée, Therese. That very same day, she died unexpectedly. Brokenhearted, Anthony sought consolation in rescuing lost objects - the things others have dropped, misplaced, or accidently left behind - and writing stories about them. Now, in the twilight of his life, Anthony worries that he has not fully discharged his duty to reconcile all the lost things with their owners.

Such a beautifully cute story
Revisado: 10-30-24
There was one weird bit at the end that was way out of character for the main character and it’s not really entirely fixed by the end. Seems really shoehorned in there for some reason but other than that it’s just a very cute and happy story and I loved it!

I cried at the ending.
Revisado: 06-08-23
I don’t know why I connect so deeply to this story but I do. The way this author writes yearning and a desire beyond reason is incredible. I loved the way she was extremely protective about being bi and wanted to make sure her story was told beautifully. Yeah it ended up being a little predictable but wow the themes in this book and the way it’s all organized is magic, I will listen to this again.

Was so good! Until it wasn’t.
Revisado: 05-31-23
Used the cheap cop out “oooh MPD scary” takeout twist for no reason. It’s a horrible cop out and something real people go through, not an evil alter ego which kills. It doesn’t even make sense within the story. I thought this was going to be a great mystery, so much was good about this story, but it’s like the author couldn’t think of an ending so they decided to just make it the most basic twist ever. Just make a story without bringing true mental health things this author has clearly never struggled with or knows literally anything about into it. If I could give 0 stars for that ending I would, waste of time.

Revisado: 03-28-23
The jokes, the voice acting, whoever the foley artist was did an amazing job this is SO GOOD! I absolutely loved it. The jokes made me laugh and the story is so ridiculous but oddly believable? It was amazing. Truly a gem of audible.

Characters made believable decisions and it was a believable scenario despite doppelgängers being involved lol. Crazy situation but I could see something like this happening. It wasn’t like the best book in the world but there was nothing wrong with it either.

Historia
Thirty-nine was a fantastic year. I was married to the man I loved. I had a body that worked without creaking. My grandma, who raised me, was still healthy, and life was pretty damned good. But as they say, all good things come to an end. One year later, I’m a widow. My joints are starting to ache. Gram is in the nursing home, and dead people think my home is some kind of supernatural bed-and-breakfast. Gluing body parts onto semi-transparent people has become a side job - deceased people I’m not even sure are actually there.

Pretty good!
Revisado: 12-15-22
Worth the few hours it was to listen. Pretty straightforward story about a girl whose best friend needed an exorcism with a little bit of nostalgia humor as well as sometimes poking a little bit of fun at religion / satanic panic.
