Historia
The Tree of Wisdom by Nagarjuna is a treatise on morals and ethics written over 2,000 years ago. It is about the love you find and how you share it with others. It's about how you're going to spend your time, about the give-and-take, and how we treat each other. It's all about the friends you make. It's all about the choices you make. It's on the importance of forgiving and being forgiven. To live a life that is pure in faith and heart. To strive to stay on the path. To find the way of the masters that have gone before us.

Replete with Wisdom Well Worth
Revisado: 08-12-22
Amazing text very grateful for having listened. Felt like a sage and a fool at the same time. Wiser because I listened carefully and attentively with awe and appreciation. Foolish because it shined a light on the countless mistakes and stupidity of both my recent and distant pasts. Nagarjuna I think was a living Buddha and a playful writer at the same times so its suggestion branches like a forest vine sprouting all sort of evocative thought. If your a woman or a dog you probably want to steer clear of this one.

Historia
What would be the practical implications of caring more about others than about yourself? This is the radical theme of this extraordinary set of instructions, a training manual composed in the fourteenth century by the Buddhist hermit Ngulchu Thogme, here explained in detail by one of the great Tibetan Buddhist masters of the twentieth century, Dilgo Khyentse. In the Mahayana tradition, those who have the courage to undertake the profound change of attitude required to develop true compassion are called bodhisattvas.

NOT the Tao Te Ching
Revisado: 03-25-19
An attempt to connect the creator God with "the Path", resulting in a completely obliterated translation. I tried to stay open-minded but it takes a stretch of the imagination to connect the 'hip' modern verbage and heavy Christianity with legit translations of the Tao Te Ching. Returning immediately.

Historia
The Second Book of the Tao is a gift to contemporary readers, granting us access to our own fundamental wisdom. Mitchell's meditations and risky reimagining of the original texts are brilliant and liberating, not least because they keep catching us off-guard, opening up the heavens where before we saw a roof. He makes the ancient teachings at once modern, relevant, and timeless.

Excellent... But...
Revisado: 01-04-19
this book is excellent but it could have REALLY used a separate section where the ancient wisdom alone was narrated and without Mitchell's contemporary spin on things. Not that the commentary is bad, but it is often much lengthier than the root text of which it attempts to elucidate. Would have really liked a section at the end that was root text only.
