Historia
Set across Istanbul and Oxford, from the 1980s to the present day, Three Daughters of Eve is a sweeping tale of faith and friendship, tradition and modernity, love and an unexpected betrayal. Peri, a wealthy Turkish housewife and mother, is on her way to a dinner party at a seaside mansion in Istanbul when a beggar snatches her handbag. As she wrestles to get it back, a photograph falls to the ground - an old polaroid of three young women and their university professor.

Good story but not as good as her other books
Revisado: 11-18-23
I enjoyed this book but felt pulled in more for the melodrama. Shafak is a great writer, but I prefer her other books more than this one. It’s my preference- not a reflection of her work.

Historia
Internationally best-selling novelist Irvin D. Yalom explores the mindsets of two men separated by 300 years. Using his skills as a psychiatrist, he explores the inner lives of Baruch Spinoza, the Jewish 17th-century secular philosopher, and of Alfred Rosenberg, outspoken Nazi ideologue, faithful servant of Hitler, the main author of racial policy for the Third Reich, and a godless mass murderer....

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Historia
An affair: It can rob a couple of their relationship, their happiness, their very identity. And yet this extremely common human experience is so poorly understood. Adultery has existed since marriage was invented, and so, too, the prohibition against it - in fact it has a tenacity that marriage can only envy. Iconic couples' therapist and best-selling author of Mating in Captivity Esther Perel returns with a groundbreaking and provocative look at infidelity, arguing for a more nuanced and less judgmental conversation about our transgressions.

The most honest account of a taboo topic
Revisado: 04-05-23
I am a huge fan of Esther Perez’s writing. This book captures the most honest accounts of infidelity. I can never tire from her examples, her voice, her candor.

Revisado: 03-24-16
A beautifully written story that spans several decades and involves many characters from different parts of the world. The author does a wonderful job presenting each character with suspense which made it difficult to put this book down or not listen to the audiobook. The audiobook was read extremely well. I recommend this novel to anyone interested in Allende's work.
