Over the top unbelievably bad
Revisado: 09-28-21
This story had so many over the top events it just wasn't even remotely believable. It was like Catherine Coulter needed to put every level of bad human behavior in 1 novel. From Domestic violence, to sexual deviance to senior citizen killers...Not well done.

Long winded and boring book
Revisado: 05-16-21
This was my first Tana French novel and it will be my last. She is long-winded and too verbose in her descriptions, story and action were lacking. It was a slow read and I would not have finished it except it was our neighborhood book club read. Our entire book club didn't like this book. That about sums it up. Don't waste your time.

Slow beginning, decent ending
Revisado: 12-10-20
Story was slow to start and slow on character development. If this hadn’t been one of my book club reads I would not have finished it. The last 2 hours were the best part the other was a waste of time. Good narrators.

Historia
In financial straits and on a sure path to spinsterhood, Venetia Milton thought her stay at the remote, ramshackle Arcane House, far from society's prying eyes, would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to engineer her own ravishment. She was there to photograph the relics and artifacts collected by a highly secretive organization, founded two centuries earlier by an eccentric alchemist.

Historia
We expect our judges to be honest and wise. Their integrity and impartiality are the bedrock of the entire judicial system. We trust them to ensure fair trials, to protect the rights of all litigants, to punish those who do wrong, and to oversee the orderly and efficient flow of justice. But what happens when a judge bends the law or takes a bribe? It’s rare, but it happens. Lacy Stoltz is an investigator for the Florida Board on Judicial Conduct. She is a lawyer, not a cop, and it is her job to respond to complaints dealing with judicial misconduct.

Revisado: 09-16-16
What did you love best about The Billionaire Bachelor?
The story is well written, the characters are easy to connect with. The narrator did a really good job. However having both a male and female narrator is always better but I will definitely listen to another book narrated by Sasha Dunbrooke.
