By far one of the best baseball books I've ever listened to or read. The way he tells stories about each player is as good as hearing their stats and accomplishments.

If you're a fan of the game of baseball, and like to know what is going on as it evolves this book is for you. I love the detail they go into in regards to how the game is coached and played now, so much has changed.

Devilish Fun

Joe Hill writes a lot like his dad, in my opinion, which is a very good thing. Ig, although odd, is very likable and a good friend, but those horns....

The book flows really well, with lots of twists, turns and insights into human nature and what could be going on in your loved ones minds without you knowing. Very enjoyable listen, I wanted to keep going every time I had to turn it off, you'll get hooked.

Good times

Loved this book. Great semi-mystery with some good twists and turns. The title character adds some great color to the book where it is involved. The characters are likable in many cases, and loathsome in others, they really are well fleshed out. The narration by Arte Johnson is very good, his voice seems to add to the humor. Great summer listen, fun and light.

Great story with fantastic characters

This is an incredible listen that plays like a middle ages Ocean's 11. The story keeps you engrossed and the characters really draw you in. The narrator does a very good job of keeping each character unique, as well.

It's Good to be Terrible

The headline is one of the quote's from Krampus. This was a fun book that has it's hand in Norse mythology, paganism, Santa and Christianity. At times it's hard to say who is the bad guy and who is the hero, but that's what makes this book fun. The setting, rural/small town West Virginia, also makes the book fun, there are some real characters. If you are super religious I doubt you will like this, the author kind of skewers the Christian cult, which is yet another reason this book is interesting. Some of the voices can get a little obnoxious eventually, but Heyborne's voice for Krampus is fantastic and just makes the Yule Lord that much more compelling.

Goldacre really gives you pause for thought in regards to medicine and nutrition. He has no qualms about calling a quack a quack, and really makes you wonder about all the studies that have been done concerning supplements, diets, and general medical information.

deGrasse Tyson is a fantastic scientist, and can also write a mean book. The ideas and facts he puts forth are mind boggling, and make you really think. The narrator does a fantastic job with keeping excited about what he is reading, and it really adds to the enjoyment of the book.

This book about demons trying to take over the world is very cute, and brought to mind Good Omens by Pratchett and Gaiman. Samuel Johnson and Boswell are wonderful heroes, and the flow of the story keeps you riveted.

I love the Odd Thomas series, but this one starts out very slow and only picks up at the end. The setting is interesting, but for a long time not much of the story is put forward, it's mostly Koontz trying to be elaborate with his descriptive language and metaphors. If you are a fan of this series then you really should listen to this book, but if there is another one I hope it's better.
