Didn't like the narrator, sounded robotic. Might have even been ai generated. Book gave some decent prompt generation advice.

What does it mean to be smart? To be human? What do we really want from life and the intelligence we have, or might create? With deep and exclusive reporting, across hundreds of interviews, New York Times Silicon Valley journalist Cade Metz brings you into the rooms where these questions are being answered. Where an extraordinarily powerful new artificial intelligence has been built into our biggest companies, our social discourse, and our daily lives, with few of us even noticing.

Great history of AI
Revisado: 03-24-22
This is a great read for anyone who loves computer science and is curious about AI and its current place in society. It jumps around a bit but overall I couldn't stop listening.

Historia
While researching the toxic and addictive properties of sugar for Fat Chance, Robert Lustig made an alarming discovery - our pursuit of happiness is being subverted by a culture of addiction and depression from which we may never recover. Dopamine is the "reward" neurotransmitter that tells our brains we want more; yet every substance or behavior that releases dopamine in the extreme leads to addiction. Serotonin is the "contentment" neurotransmitter that tells our brains we don't need any more; yet its deficiency leads to depression.

Must read for anyone
Revisado: 03-28-19
Lustig explains the root cause, effect and antidote for what ails most of America and rest of the western world. The confusion of pleasure with happiness and the hijacking of our diet by sugar and processed food is thoroughly examined through biochemistry and anecdotes that make the science come to life.

Historia
Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. He is surrounded by Vonnegut's usual large cast of continuing characters (notably here the hack science fiction writer Kilgore Trout and the alien Tralfamadorians, who oversee his life and remind him constantly that there is no causation, no order, no motive to existence).

James Franco makes an excellent book even better
Revisado: 03-23-17
Loved the cadence and inflection James brought to a unique book. His attention to the recurring asides 'and so it goes' is perfect.
