Historia
The incomparable master of the legal thriller takes us deeper into the labyrinth that is the American justice system, always drawing us in with an irresistible hook, pulling the thread of tension tighter and tighter, and then knocking us out with a conclusion that's never "by the book". Maybe that's why, after more than 20 years of consecutive number-one New York Times best sellers, a new novel by America's favorite storyteller is still a major publishing event.

A pleasant, entertaining story
Revisado: 09-19-20
John Grisham tells a good tale, as always. This one was not terribly dramatic, which I appreciated in this time of world pandemic. It engaged my interest and gave me a few new things to think about. I liked the protagonist and the narrator. I think my next audible pick will be another John Grisham novel.

A means to an end
Revisado: 11-18-17
A friend sold me on the Dresden Files. He promised that, while the first 3 books are not great, the rest are fantastically addictive. If I didn’t have such faith in my friend’s recommendations, I would not have made it through the first book.
Fool Moon is a little better. I’m not sympathetic to Harry yet. The only engaging relationship he has is with Murphy.
However, minor characters like Bob and Chauncey are awesome. I am also curious about Harry’s mother. These pieces are evidence that Jim Butcher really can write, so I’m sticking with him for at least two more books.

Still my favorite
Revisado: 03-11-17
Charlotte's Web was my favorite childhood book. I could not have known E.B. White's fame and expertise as a writer. I only knew that I loved the story, the setting, the characters, and most especially, Charlotte.
It is a blissful treat to listen to the author read this book. I thrilled to hear the pages turn, and loved his rendition of the animal voices.
The afterward was a pleasant surprise, providing additional insight to the story that I will always treasure.

Creativity, Inc. is a manual for anyone who strives for originality and the first-ever all-access trip into the nerve center of Pixar Animation - into the meetings, postmortems, and “Braintrust” sessions where some of the most successful films in history are made. It is, at heart, a book about creativity - but it is also, as Pixar cofounder and president Ed Catmull writes, “an expression of the ideas that I believe make the best in us possible”.

Historia
At one time, Corrie ten Boom would have laughed at the idea that she had a story to tell. For the first 50 years of her life, nothing out of the ordinary ever happened to her. She was a spinster watchmaker living contentedly with her sister and their elderly father in the tiny house over their shop in Haarlem. Their uneventful days, as regulated as their own watches, revolved around their abiding love for one another. But with the Nazi invasion and occupation of Holland, everything changed....

Wonderful
Revisado: 03-20-16
I have heard pieces of Corrie Ten Boom's story all my life. Somehow, I thought it was a story similar to the Diary of Anne Frank. I was surprised to learn that Corrie was middle-aged when she was sent to a concentration camp. I was equally surprised to learn that The Hiding Place tells the story of Betsy Ten Boom, as much as it tells the story of Corrie Ten Boom.
I was afraid to listen to The Hiding Place, afraid to let the horrors of a concentration camp story into my soul. I learned that this is not a concentration camp story per se, but rather, it is a testimony to the faithfulness of Jesus Christ.
The Hiding Place gives an account of the Holy Spirit's leading, provision, and protection during one of the darkest hours of the history of the world. This story is for everyone- Christian, non-believer, seeker - God will speak to you through this account.
The narration was perfect. The story is miraculous. The characters are now beloved members of my family, whom I will soon embrace in heaven.

Historia
Ernest Hemingway said, “All modern American literature comes from one book by Mark Twain called Huckleberry Finn". One hundred years after its author’s death, this classic remains remarkably modern and poignantly relevant. In this new edition, Elijah Wood reads Huck in a youthful voice that may be the closest interpretation to Twain’s original intent. His performance captures the excitement and confusion of adolescence and adventure.

Classic story - well told
Revisado: 04-12-15
If you find yourself frustrated with the minor characters, remember - that was Mark Twain's intent. The only characters I loved were Jim and Huckleberry, and an occasional acquaintance along this epic journey. And that's the point of the thing.
Elijah Wood did a fine job.

'It was the best of times, it was the worst of times'; so the recording begins and ends with some of Dickens's best-known words, and between those lines is every Briton's view of the worst excesses of the French Revolution. Set in London and Paris before and during the French Revolution, the audiobook tells the story of a French doctor who is imprisoned for 18 years in the Bastille in Paris. Upon his release, he moves to London with his daughter, Lucie, whom he had never met.
