The Power of Nunchi will show you how. Takes very specific approach of reading a room and people based on South Korea’s secret of success as nation. Does a fine finding the thin line between balancing common sense, collectivist and individuality. Especially enjoyed and appreciated the chapter on Nunchi vs empathy.

Peter Ash came home from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with only one souvenir: what he calls his "white static", the buzzing claustrophobia due to post-traumatic stress that has driven him to spend a year roaming in nature, sleeping under the stars. But when a friend from the marines commits suicide, Ash returns to civilization to help the man's widow with some home repairs. Under her dilapidated porch, he finds more than he bargained for.

This story kept me riveted from start to finish. On equal footing with Connelly Child & Wambaugh.

Historia
From Martin Clark - praised by Entertainment Weekly as "our best legal-thriller writer" - comes a wickedly clever, tenderhearted, and intricately plotted novel about a hard-luck lawyer's refusal to concede defeat, even as fate, the court system, and a gang of untouchable con artists conspire against him.

Top tier Lawyer vs con artists driveway book!
Revisado: 02-09-20
Having listened to over a hundred books from audible in the last 13 plus years this one ranks right near the top! So good I feel compelled to write a review. This story had a top notch reader, storyline and such believable characters with nuanced scenarios that I really looked forward to long drives in the car. I’m planning on feasting on the remaining Martin Clark’s books with future credits - hopefully with the equally talented David Aaron Baker as the reader. The ending really caught me by surprise. Spoiler alert! - I especially enjoyed the bittersweet acknowledgment of the main character when he lamented how he would rather have been left alone poorer but in his own community than to have found a way to get back at the grifters - waiting to finish out his time and cash in.

Historia
In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

Epic of the highest calibre!
Revisado: 07-09-10
After I reluctantly finished I was probably pumping up too high to get my wife interested in starting. After 1 of her co-workers strongly recommneded it she couldn't put it down. (My mother in-law is reading it for a 2nd time).
In my opinion 'World Without End' equals 'Pillars of the Earth' not only in size but character development and architecture of plot.

This ranks right at the top of the best books I have listened to in years. Everyone I have recommended this book to, loved it also! Hard to believe the original 'Count of Monte Cristo' could be any better.

Dave Robicheaux returns in another Bayou adventure, this one more gruesome and gut-wrenching than any that have come before. Hurricane Katrina has ravaged New Orleans, leaving the streets and buildings flooded and the city awash with opportunists, looters, and vicious criminals. There is no order, no law. Police are shooting randomly at innocent people, prison guards have abandoned their posts, and bodies float through the streets and hang from trees.

I really looked forward to this listen but I was somewhat disillusioned with the irritating reader and the unrelateable characters. I think fans of Stephen King's 'Duma Key' would probably love this book.
