Historia
In many ways, we’re more comfortable than ever before. But could our sheltered, temperature-controlled, overfed, underchallenged lives actually be the leading cause of many our most urgent physical and mental health issues? In this gripping investigation, award-winning journalist Michael Easter seeks out off-the-grid visionaries, disruptive genius researchers, and mind-body conditioning trailblazers who are unlocking the life-enhancing secrets of a counterintuitive solution: discomfort.

There is a huge issue with this book…
Revisado: 03-09-24
This is a great book and I think it is spot on in many ways. The problem is that the people who need to hear this the most, are the ones that will dismiss it the hardest. Selfishly, I think to myself that it is good. Let me enjoy doing hard things without having to escape crowds posting on Instagram how uncomfortable they are.

It works!
Revisado: 02-17-24
One day Dr. Dispenza woke up and meditated really hard while imagining getting even richer. He sent a frequency into the universe for suckers like me to give him my money. The frequency found a match with me as I want to stay poor and I bought this book. The book was a complete waste of time and money that I will never get back, but my money found a new home in Dr. Dispenza’s bank account. I truly feel sad that people buy into this crap, and guys Joe profits on desperation.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Great introduction to focus on what matter
Revisado: 08-06-23
I’m in my mid 40s. Through life I have always analyzed what makes me feel good, what matters and what is not. This book summarizes well what I learned from just reflecting along the way. I wish I had listened to it at 22. It would have given me a head start. If you are confused and unhappy in life, get this book. If you are in a pretty happy space, go for something else unless you want to confirm your path.

Yes! That is garbage!
Revisado: 04-15-23
This book contains 3 simple meditations that are repeated 3 times and then it just plays muffled sounds in the background. It’s beyond terrible. There is no way the positive reviews are not fake.

Target Group: The Lazy
Revisado: 04-15-23
Everybody thing is targeted for someone that rather watch tv and think that everything is working against them and it is hard to get out of tv couch. I don’t have that issue. I don’t have a TV but I also don’t have an issue getting motivated. Rather the opposite and to the extent that things break. I also care about science and… well… this is advertising and opinions served. I also wonder how you can live like this considering all gizmos, supplements and restricted diet you need. Plus your own farm supply you with the few things you can eat. I guess it is possible if you made your Silicon Valley money and now live on a remote farm full of body enhancing gizmos.
That said, I will try a few things but I will do my best to find alternative sources just because it was such a turn off hearing about his businesses. All 54 of them…

Historia
In the United States, teenagers can focus on one task for only sixty-five seconds at a time, and office workers average only three minutes. Like so many of us, Johann Hari was finding that constantly switching from device to device and tab to tab was a diminishing and depressing way to live. He tried all sorts of self-help solutions—even abandoning his phone for three months—but nothing seemed to work. So Hari went on an epic journey across the world to interview the leading experts on human attention—and he discovered that everything we think we know about this crisis is wrong.

Okay if it wasn’t for the politics
Revisado: 03-12-22
It’s a good book if you just started to think about distractions, how you can bring purpose and happiness to your life. If you are already aware, you have taken action, this book does not add much. I can actually be the opposite. If you are in control, this book will tell you that you are not, you are powerless and big tech controls your life. You just don’t know it. I’m an individualist, I believe change comes from within and the individual’s willpower is what drives change. This book makes the assumption that we are all puppets without a will. Only you have the power to change your life. Changing your own habits is much easier that being angry with the world you can’t change. Listen to the book, but remember, you are not a victim, you are in charge.

In Sailing True North, Admiral Stavridis offers lessons of leadership and character from the lives and careers of history's most significant naval commanders. He also brings a lifetime of reflection to bear on the subjects of his study—naval history, the vocation of the admiral, and global geopolitics. Above all, this is a book that will help you navigate your own life's voyage: the voyage of leadership of course, but more important, the voyage of character. Sailing True North helps us find the right course to chart.

Extremely repetitive
Revisado: 11-28-21
The content is to some extent focused on France and Europe. Annoying but okay if the book was awesome. It’s not. The same statements are repeated over and over again. Several times I had to check if I repeated a chapter by mistake. If you have a little experience from investing, this book is a waste of time. It feels like each chapter is copied from different sites or books. I don’t understand how anybody can give this book a good rating.

In fact, you do it every time you learn something new. If you want to be in control of your life instead of anxiety telling you what you can and cannot do, keep reading. The human brain is capable of amazing feats, and we have power over how it works and what it does. Instead of being inflexible, it is pliable and will work the way you want and direct it to work.

Disappointing
Revisado: 01-05-21
This book might be good if you have severe anxiety and never really been thinking about how to manage it. If you are not suffering from severe anxiety or if you have some basic understanding of how you control your feelings this is a waste of time.
I had pretty high expectations from the good reviews that I would get some insight in how to manage stress in complex situations and how to improve my performance based on science. Since all reviews rated solid 5 stars and some of them repeats, they might, just might, be written by the authors buddies.
The only thing that kept me going to the finish the audiobook was that I wanted to know the total number of text messages the narrator got before finishing
