I study health and life styles and have a medical background. This is the best book I have read. I have read hundreds of books and lots of research on health. He knows what he is talking about!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The author thinks he is god. He trashed out leading medical professionals that are a lot smarter and thoughtful than he is. Don't eat too much protein. OK this needs to be heard but two other books are much more balanced, and they explain how to make sure you stay healthy on whole foods, mostly plant based diet: 1. The New Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson, and the 2. Primal Fat Burner by Nora Gedgaudas.

I finished this book and suffered with almost every word. He sounded reasonable at the beginning. He does not know about balanced research, how to read nutritional research and how different people have different genetic requirements. We are not all the same.

I suffered greatly on his vegetarian diet. When I changed to a mostly plants, healthy fats, small amount of wild caught salmon and grass fed organic meat (meat as a condiment) and no grain, no corn, no processed food and became totally healthy with trig of 44 (over 400 on his diet) and fasting bld sugar of 84 (in the diabetic range on his diet). Plus when I went off his vegetarian diet, I lost 60 lbs and I am now in the normal weight range and do not have any food cravings.

I went on his vegetarian diet to be healthy and lost my health. It is not about one size fits all.
