From the first time I ever read this series, I have said we needed Haymitch’s book. Man, we sure had a long wait, but it was so very much worth it.
I won’t do a recap, or anything just know if you’re a fan of the first three books this book is the icing to those. You really get to understand Haymitch in a completely different way.
I cried more than I thought I would. But it explains so much about him.
The narration was perfect. I wasn’t sure at first but nope Jefferson White really does do a great job.

Why did I wait so long to listen to this book? I bought it when it came out.
Wow, it was an incredible story.
I cried so many tears in the best way.
As someone who isn’t a fan of time travel this book turned that around for me. This was so easy to follow, and I never felt like I didn’t know what time we were in. Let alone how the author made you feel like you were in 1920 Ireland. I said it before, and I will say it again: Wow.
The narrators delivered an exceptional performance, bringing the characters to life with their captivating storytelling.

I should’ve known Lincoln Pierce was trouble from the moment I held my knife to his throat. I’ve been running for most of my life, hiding away in a small town and hoping no one discovers who I truly am. The only problem is that I can never let anyone know the real me. Or at least that was true until my brother moved his best friend onto our shared property. Now, I’m stuck trying to avoid the nosy billionaire’s probing questions and piercing stares. And it doesn’t help that I almost killed him the first time we met.

As a fan of Catherine Cowles, I always know I will enjoy the stories she writes. However, I didn't expect to devour this book in one sitting. I shouldn't have been surprised, given the small-town setting. With an FMC who is hiding from a tragic past, she finds a home and people who love and care about her.
Enter the MMC, who is looking for something but doesn't really know what it is until he finds it. He has everything he could ever want, except peace. He discovers it in the small town, along with the love of his life. I never saw the twist coming, and I loved it.
The narrators, Sebastian York and Samantha Brentmoor, are two of my favourites. They really do a fantastic job.

What a book, I didn’t really know what I was getting into, and it's lovely to be thrust into a story you didn’t know you needed.
Emily Allen sent a letter to her most favourite author, Siobhan Riordan, who hasn’t been able to write for 10 years. She has a series that left the main character in purgatory, and readers have been begging for the last book. Only Siobhan couldn’t write it, it wouldn’t come to her, so when she received Emily’s letter, something in her knew she needed to hire her.
Emily needed to get out of her situation, and this was the best way forward for herself and her life. Only she didn’t expect to fall in love or to become part of something that she could never walk away from. The people became her home, and she became theirs.
It’s an incredible story of overcoming obstacles and shining in the dark. I loved everything about this book.
The narrator was perfect, just perfect.

I found that this book is more about Diem opening up to Tallus, even if it’s hard. He wants to be better, and he pushes himself each time. He pushes through some of his triggers because he doesn’t want Tallus to give up on him.
He might not have the words to show Tallus how he is feeling, but he sure is trying to show him with his actions. I did find him a little abrasive in this book, but I get it; he is in pain, and he is working through it. It’s an emotionally charged book, and Tallus does have a care. I just don’t think Tallus truly understands just how tortured Diem is from his past.
The case Diem and Tallus are working on is an interesting one. How I never know whodunit is a mystery to me. The cases are my favourite part of this series.
Nick J. Russo is perfection, I love the way he voices both of these characters; it adds so much richness to the story.

In my defense, I had no idea the tattooed, glasses-wearing, soulful hottie I spent one perfect day—and one unforgettable night—with was a hockey star on my father’s team. And Miles didn’t know I was the coach’s daughter. That’s the point of a “no-work-talk” date. But now? He's as forbidden to me as I am to him. When I land a new gig as the team photographer, we vow to keep it professional. We mostly succeed…except for that time after a game when he couldn’t keep his talented hands off me. But I swear, it won’t happen again.

The duet narration was exactly what I needed. Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke were just wonderful.
The chemistry, smoken’ hot!
I am not a fan of keeping secrets, but I do see how this situation was a little unique. They did meet before they knew they were intertwined in a way neither of them suspected.
I am a big fan of Miles and Leighton and how they communicated, even if they didn’t communicate with the right people.
Birdie is a gem and needs to be protected at all costs. I can’t wait until the next book because I already miss her.
I love that Lauren’s book are so low on the drama, but this one has it. And you are going to know about it. It worked for me with this one.

This was an incredibly intense book, and I couldn’t put it down, heck I didn’t want to.
Lor and her siblings have been living in torment for 12 years in the Auroras prison.
When sent to isolation, she is taken to Sun King's trials. It was just a different way to be tormented. She must jump through all these hoops if she wants to live or to keep her family alive.
The trials are to pick the next Sun Queen for Atlas the Sun king.
The book is fast-paced, and I loved this, usually stories like this feel dragged on and maybe that is why I couldn’t/wouldn’t put it down.
The book ends on a cliffy which I was expecting.
I know a lot of people didn’t like the narration, but I wasn’t one of them. I quite enjoyed the narrator I felt like she did a great job giving us the emotions this book required.

I chose the bear.
This book is intense, but it felt necessary. Many people may not realize how dangerous and life-ruining having a stalker can be. As we see with Charlotte, her life is turned upside down, and the police can't do anything until the stalker acts. So, she has to live in constant fear and unease.
Then there's Seth, her neighbour, who looks intimidating and scary, so naturally, Charlotte is afraid of him. Who could blame her? But, through the removal of their front stairs, they slowly learn to trust each other.
It's a story of triumph and learning to trust not only someone else but also yourself. You're tougher and smarter than you think.
Abby slayed it with this one!
Julia & Connor brought it to life from the page to our ears it was perfect.

I loved the dynamic between these two and liked that they were childhood friends first.
But also, Violet is his best friend's little sister which puts a bit of a wrench into the situation.
What I love about Lauren’s writing is that she doesn’t give us the norm, meaning you would expect drama around her being the sister to his best friend but nope we don’t get that at all. I love this about Lauren’s writing.
Cooper himself is the one with his inner voice reminding him who she is and why they can’t happen. But attraction and lust throughout the years had its toehold and isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
I very much enjoyed that they had their secret signals it made their story unique.
In a lot of sports romance books, I have been listening to lately the author tends to forget about the sport or the teammates and I really liked that we get a glimpse into his team, his coach and even the gameplay itself.
Lauren always surprises me in all the best ways. Very low drama it was a fantastic sports romance with game scenes!!
Jason Clark and Andi Arndt did a lovely job with these two unique characters and I for one want more from both narrators.

Wren is trying to heal from her divorce. She is a successful career woman with a fashion line only she can’t design and needs to get out of her own way. So, she picked up and spent the summer in a small town outside of Seattle.
It’s exactly what she needed. The town rallies around her and she finds family in them.
Anderson is grieving and is losing himself in the process. The guilt he is feeling is keeping him from really living.
But when Wren comes to town, he can’t stop thinking about her or trying to catch a glimpse of her. Slowly they become friends, and then more, they help each other heal with their bodies but also by slowly trusting in each other.
The title doesn’t do this book justice.
The narration was lovely. Joe isn’t my first choice but he didn’t drag out his words (thank god) and Stephanie Rose was the perfect Wren.
