Good quick listen.

A good (but not amazing), quick listen. Lots of movie references, but that was an intentional part of the story so it worked. Cutsie rom-com tropes that were also treated with an awareness that they were cheesy rom-com tropes. The story was entertaining, and the characters endearing. Worth the listen since it was included as part of the romance package.

Great listen. Wished it was longer.

As always, Dianne Duvall did a fabulous job. The only downside was that it needed to be longer.. The epilogue could have been stretched out into another full section of the book. It kinda just felt like she was done writing so abbreviated that part of their relationship into an epilogue / after thought. But the rest of the book was great. Susan and Stanislav are a great couple, and I enjoyed Stanislav's amnesia twist to the story. It was a good way to change things up.

Short, but good.

Short, but good. I wish it was longer! As always, Jeaniene Frost did a great job. The only downside is that it was too short and I wanted more to the story. Hopefully these characters get more time and their own series.

Hard to believe that they fell in love...

It was an okay read. Not bad, but not amazing. I had a hard time believing that the two main characters fell in love. Tegan was a complete jerk and despite that, rather quickly Elise was finding herself in love. I found myself rolling my eyes at times, and wondering if this is how an abusive relationship starts. "He's mean to me, but I just love him because he was sorta obscurely nice that one time." It was just hard to find their falling in love narrative to be believable. By the end he was a changed man, nice and full of love and affection for his new lady love. Overall not bad and I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.

Performances are Great! Characters... Meh.

I enjoyed the first book. And while I enjoy Devon as a character, things get a little too stalker-like in the book. Devon & Willow keep beating the same dead horse throughout the book. I love you, but I can't be with you, but I have to be with you, but I'm leaving you. A little bit of that is fine for plot, etc. but that was their whole relationship. Them getting together, then breaking up. Then getting back together, only for Willow to once again run off. Once again the narration duet nailed it. The performances were fantastic. Overall I enjoyed the listen. It's an interesting take on angles & vampires, and I am about to download the third book!

Really Enjoyed It - Looking Forward to the Next!

This was a random find that ended up being a great little PNR book. The story has an interesting twist on the whole vampires & angels mythology that was really fun to read. The chemistry between Galen and Reese was phenomenal & intense. The duet performances of Will Watt & Susan Fouche were fantastic together. Particularly Will's performance of Galen, and just all of his accents & voices in general were great. He did a great job of giving all the characters distinct voices and cadences. I'm really looking forward to immediately reading the second book in the series.

Good but not great

It gives a little back story for the characters, but not much. It's quaintly entertaining that it takes place in the 1970s - comical where they're ogling over a computer and other mentions that set the date of the story. It seemed mostly like more of the same from the series, but nothing overly amazing. If you like the other books in the series, you'll probably like this one too.

Meh. Ivy drove me crazy, in a bad way.

I wanted to like her, but really just ended up not being able to stand Ivy. I kept hoping she'd be killed, but alas she made it through to the end of the book. Way too angsty... and honestly a little stupid. There's some interesting world building and potentially interesting plot, but Ivy just drives me crazy to the point of ruining it.

Another Good PNR Book in the Crossbreed Series

The Crossbreed series is a good PNR series and this book was interesting. Not the best in the series, but still good. Definitely some nail biting moments. I continue to enjoy Raven's character development, and adore Christian. The constant memory wipes and fresh starts for those two are getting a little old. But I'm enjoying the journey that Danika Dark is taking us on. Nicole Poole's narration is fabulous.
