Historia
For years, the ancient alien AI known as Skippy (the Magnificent, don’t forget that part) has been able to do one impossible thing after another. What is his secret? It’s simple: 100 percent Grade-A extreme awesomeness. And also because he had never been faced with an opponent of equal power. Until now. This time, he might need a little help from a band of filthy monkeys.

Another of Skippy and Joe’s adventures on the Valkyrie. Nobody thinks this is eyebrow literature so it’s fun.

The work tells the story of Jane's early life, her experience at Lowood School and as a governess. Her refusal to accept Rochester's love on any but her own strictly moral terms is a passionate cry for independence.

I can see why it’s often abridged heavily
Revisado: 12-26-24
Well, it’s nice to have a story with words more than two syllables long, I am afraid that there is not nearly enough plot for the length of the book.

Historia
The thrilling conclusion to The Extinction Files is finally here! In 2003, the first human genome was sequenced. But the secrets it held were never revealed. The truth was discovered 30 years ago, almost by accident. Dr. Paul Kraus had spent his entire career searching for what he called humanity's lost tribes - human ancestors who had gone extinct. When Kraus compared the DNA samples of the lost tribes with our own, he found a pattern of changes: a code. At the time, the technology didn't exist to unravel what it meant. Kraus hid his work and disappeared.

Characters mostly well developed. Interesting premise. Seems a bit disjointed at times. Worth a listen on sale.

Historia
The folks in Mike Erikson's small New England town would say he's just your average, everyday guy. And that's exactly how Mike likes it. Sure, the life he's chosen isn't much of a challenge to someone with his unique gifts, but he's content with his quiet and peaceful existence. That is, until an old friend presents him with an irresistible mystery, one that Mike is uniquely qualified to solve.

Hard to review without blowing the plot:
A group of scientists who don’t really understand how their portal works trying to maintain their funding meet their project reviewer - a genius with a perfect memory who starts noticing -- the differences.

Historia
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

Not as much Skippy, but entertaining
Revisado: 01-20-24
This book was more about Perkins Shawna, Jessie and Ski than Bishop, Skippy, and the Merry band of Pirates. They’re setting up future books featuring the crew stuck on Paradise going into battle alongside the Ruhar. It was fun and a bit more realistic.

Historia
In a locked Honolulu office building, three men are found dead with no sign of struggle except for the ultrafine, razor-sharp cuts covering their bodies. The only clue left behind is a tiny bladed robot, nearly invisible to the human eye. In the lush forests of Oahu, groundbreaking technology has ushered in a revolutionary era of biological prospecting. Trillions of microorganisms, tens of thousands of bacteria species, are being discovered; they are feeding a search for priceless drugs and applications on a scale beyond anything previously imagined.

An interesting but ultimately unfulfilling tale
Revisado: 04-14-23
I like the micro world-building although the tech abilities, natural dangers and micro physics is applied somewhat inconsistently - probably for the sake of plot. Characters are one dimensional. Hero, kickass chick, Euro-brainy chick, pacifist Hindu, whiny asshole, deux ex machina survivalist, etc. the nature situations they got into were interesting, but I’m not really sure I cared if anyone survived. The villain is one scary psycho, and they left it open for a sequel.

I actually enjoyed it.
Revisado: 08-04-20
A lot of the reviews of Todd’s books of been pretty harsh and some deservedly so - I mean how many freaking plagues can we have- but this one was actually interesting as it gave nitty-gritty details of how an isolated weyr is run and detailed Weyrling training. Some interesting characters among the traders and weyr folk.
