Mr. Knight does it again! A brilliant story, well told, and destined to be a classic. Keeping the same narrator (who could almost certainly be an asset to any story!) certainly didn't hurt anything - narration was once again natural and compelling, aiding the story rather than distracting.
While I dislike the idea of beating a story/plot line to death, there need to be more books in this universe, with these characters. There are so many great characters that could develop, and so many options to explore....

Historia
Pictures of Lily is the first full-length book of The Strangers Bureau, a series of supernatural mysteries, featuring veteran Sûreté detective Eleanor Gerard and set in the now tranquil but historically blood-soaked landscape of Northern France. Pictures of Lily picks up where Interlopers, book one of the Strangers Bureau Series, ends. It is about the ghosts of the Western Front and the spirits of the ones they left behind.

You know what's going on. Or do you?
Revisado: 09-22-20
This title can almost seem like a departure from the first title in the series. Characters in the fringes of the first book become the focus of this book, as they struggle to come to terms with the truth we already know from the first book. Again the narration brings the characters of the book to life, and without hyperbole, we understand one character's tough devotion, another's quiet, underlying loyalty, and an attraction between a roguish anachronism, and an independent modern woman. Political maneuvering and power plays fire intrigue as the impossible slowly moves towards unlikely, struggles to become a maybe, and then clearly becomes the reality that these characters face.

Historia
For nearly a century, SCIA's work has remained a dark secret within the underbelly of French Governments through war and peace. Nominally acting under the direction of the Ministry of the Interior, the Security Committee for Interloper Affairs - the best kept secret of the Fifth Republic - has become a bloated, corrupt monster, a rogue organ of state whose senior officers are more preoccupied with their own personal aggrandisement and the preservation of SCIA's power, than any meaningful notion of service to the French state.

Although this title is a little short, it has two things going for it: The second title in the series is longer, and the story potential that's left open is potentially vast. When taken in context with the narration, which is done as well as one could ask for - honestly, the characters actually seem to have real emotions and reactions to what's happening to them - it gives a sense that this could be happening. The characters and plot seem to develop easily and naturally, giving a sense of believability that I find lacking in some books of this genera.

Historia
When 13-year-old orphan Penny Sinclair moves to the small town of Dogwood to live with her godmother, she expects her life to become very dull. She doesn't expect to find a strange talking fox roaming the countryside near her new home, a kindred spirit in her new friend Zoe, or the secret grove where they discover the long hidden magic of The Phoenix Girls. Learning to use magic isn't easy, though; Penny and Zoe get their magic wrong almost as often as they get it right. When something sinister threatens Dogwood, their often accidental magic may be the only thing that can stop it.

Whimsical YA fantasy meets real world odd kids,
Revisado: 09-21-20
....and it's perfect. A narration that draws you into the story and makes it believable rather than one that distracts or repels is a huge plus, and this combination works. The story is enchanting, and one worthy of a listen for anyone who had that awkward "loner" childhood and just never seemed to fit in. Little by little the outcasts come together to make a great cast in this adventure. I can't wait for more!

In the running for The Best Story Ever Told
Revisado: 01-15-16
Is there anything you would change about this book?
This story is, perhaps, one of the greatest ever told. The book was so good, I decided to listen to the audio book, since it's probably been 20 years since I read the book. Rest assured that I enjoyed the story all over again.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Lonesome Dove?
The well developed characters make this story. There doesn't seem to be any one moment that stands out, it's a bit like hanging out with old friends after a while, you laugh and cry with them.
Would you be willing to try another one of Lee Horsley’s performances?
Lee Horsley's performance wasn't horrible. What was horrible was the production value of his performance. Whoever engineered this production doesn't know what a compressor or a level meter are, and neither used nor consulted either one. In places it was quite loud, and in other places, inexplicably, I couldn't hear it no matter how loud I turned it up. As an audio engineer, it was very frustrating.
Could you see Lonesome Dove being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
While the movie that's been made from this book is every bit as powerful as the book, it lacks several scenes and changes a few things. And when I say movie, I mean a 6 hour long made-for-TV special. It's worth the watch.
Any additional comments?
I was surprised to find a number of prequels and a sequel to this book. I'm listening to all of those as well.

Historia
Benjamin Franklin is the founding father who winks at us - an ambitious urban entrepreneur who rose up the social ladder, from leather-aproned shopkeeper to dining with kings. In best-selling author Walter Isaacson's vivid and witty full-scale biography, we discover why Franklin turns to us from history's stage with eyes that twinkle from behind his new-fangled spectacles. In Benjamin Franklin, Isaacson shows how Franklin defines both his own time and ours. The most interesting thing that Franklin invented, and continually reinvented, was himself.

An interesting take on big money business plans
Revisado: 01-07-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If I had a friend looking for helpful suggestions on honing a business plan, I might point them this way.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Lots of different interviews with different people, but tidbits from the sharks seemed a bit self centered - sort of why I'm so great, not really tactical.
What about Michael Parrish DuDell’s performance did you like?
He managed to portray some rather dry material without putting me to sleep, or without seeming to be falsely excited about it.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Based on the TV show ....
Any additional comments?
While the focus of the book is big money business plans and startup thoughts, there are some jewels in here for the same people who may feel they are better suited as targets for the $100 Startup.
