Historia
Bret Boone made history in 1992 as the first third-generation major leaguer in baseball history. A five-foot-ten firecracker who was spurned by scouts for his small size, supposed lack of power, and temper tantrums (one scout called him a "helmet-throwing terror"), Bret didn't care about family legacy; he wanted to make his own way. He did just that, building a 14-year career that included three all-star appearances, four Gold Gloves, a bout with alcoholism, and the ignominy of being traded for the infamous "player to be named later."

Well, he admits it. He's not humble.

Good stories, but bad story teller
Revisado: 05-19-16
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
If you're a die hard baseball fan, you'll enjoy the stories. Takes a while to get past his ego though.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Bret is an awful narrator. I appreciate hearing from the horse's mouth, so to speak, but he's a pro ball player, not a narrator.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
awkward transitions, inconsistent speed, ultimately felt like they cut just before he asked for his check at the end.
Was Home Game worth the listening time?
Again, if you love baseball, you'll enjoy the stories.

Historia
The definitive biography of a legendary athlete. The Shrug. The Shot. The Flu Game. When most people think of him, they think of his beautiful shots with the game on the line, his body totally in sync with the ball - hitting nothing but net. But for all his greatness, this scion of a complex family from North Carolina's Coastal Plain has a darker side: He's a ruthless competitor and a lover of high stakes. There's never been a biography that encompassed the dual nature of his character and looked so deeply at Jordan on and off the court - until now.

Ok story if you can handle the narrator
Revisado: 02-11-15
What did you like best about Michael Jordan? What did you like least?
Pros:
It was good to learn more about his competitive drive, although it didn't exactly cast him in a positive light most of the time.
Cons:
Narrator has a very robotic voice. Tough to sit through
Too much backstory on his grandparents
What do you think your next listen will be?
Nothing related
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Bob Souer?
I would have like to have heard a voice associated w/ Jordan's era - Costas, Albert or someone of the like.
Was Michael Jordan worth the listening time?
debatable. Learned some interesting things, but I only finished it bc I'm a little OCD
