Historia
The Zombie War was the longest and most costly conflict that Britain has ever waged. No one knows the true figure of those who lost their lives in the long years of the war and tragically too many have lost their lives in the years of peace that have followed. Life expectancy is a shadow of what it was and many diseases and ailments that science thought it had eradicated have returned. Many of those who survived the war have since died, taking with them the stories and memories of the most devastating and important struggle that mankind has ever waged.

It’s Okay
Revisado: 07-06-21
Is it as good as Max Brook’s zombie publications, I’d have to say no.
The narration was a good attempt but would have been better if multiple professional actors were used for the different characters.

Historia
The folks in Mike Erikson's small New England town would say he's just your average, everyday guy. And that's exactly how Mike likes it. Sure, the life he's chosen isn't much of a challenge to someone with his unique gifts, but he's content with his quiet and peaceful existence. That is, until an old friend presents him with an irresistible mystery, one that Mike is uniquely qualified to solve.

A Disappointmenting Plot
Revisado: 01-01-17
Narration was great, characters enticingly vibrant but in my opinion the plot twisted into really a childish silly "Beetlejuice" like scenario which was a big let down for me.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

I found the journal at work. Well, I don't know if you'd call it work, but that's where I found it. It's the lost journal of Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest inventors and visionaries ever. Before he died in 1943, he kept a notebook filled with spectacular claims and outrageous plans.

Disappointed
Revisado: 11-30-16
I immensely enjoyed Rob Dircks other audiobook "The Wrong Unit", unfortunately I didn't enjoy "Where The Hell is Tesla?". While the diction and human characters are certainly entertaining overall I found the plot and alien characters just too silly for my tastes.

Deserves Better Narration
Revisado: 11-30-16
Overall I enjoyed the storyline and would have loved to give this audiobook a higher review but the narration by Mark Boyett was it's downfall. I especially found the character Rock Crandon's gravelly low whisper particularly irritating.

Historia
An historic literary event: the publication of a newly discovered novel, the earliest known work from Harper Lee, the beloved, best-selling author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning classic To Kill a Mockingbird. Originally written in the mid-1950s, Go Set a Watchman was the novel Harper Lee first submitted to her publishers before To Kill a Mockingbird. Assumed to have been lost, the manuscript was discovered in late 2014.

Disappointed
Revisado: 11-08-15
I really wanted to love this book and had high expectations. Taken in the whole though I found myself disappointed as I found the plot too meandering and un-polished. Perhaps I was expecting it to be too much to be a classic like "To Kill A Mockingbird".

Historia
Connected at the chest by a band of flesh, Chang and Eng Bunker toured the United States and the world from the 1820s to the 1870s, placing themselves and their extraordinary bodies on exhibit as "freaks of nature". More famously known as the Siamese twins, they eventually settled in rural North Carolina, married two white sisters, became slave owners, and fathered 21 children between them. More than a biography of the twins, this is a study of 19th-century American culture and society that reveals how Americans projected onto the twins their own hopes and fears.

Gave it a good try but didn't like it
Revisado: 01-15-15
Tried listening to this book and gave it a good try but just found 1) the narrator was just not someone I was comfortable listening to and 2) found that yes the author did a lot of research but sensed that most of the content strayed too far off into unnecessary tangents. Overall too much stuffing not enough meat on the bones as a historical biography for my liking.

Rich in hilarious anecdote, this audiobook tells the story of Niven's school and Sandhurst days, his posting to Malta with the Highland Light Infantry, and how he escaped the army for a new life in the States. There he joined New York high society, before crossing the continent, lured by Hollywood. He returned to Britain to serve during the Second World War, but then made Hollywood his home.
