Historia
I was warned about Tristan Cole. "Stay away from him," people said. "He's cruel." "He's cold." "He's damaged." It's easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster. But I couldn't do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him, because it also lived inside of me.

Prepare for the sweetest heartbreak and healing.

The heartbreak starts in the prologue… and goes throughout the book, but it makes the healing all that much sweeter!

I can't believe it's over.
Revisado: 01-06-25
As usual, Nisha's writing is creative, romantic, and exciting. In this last installment in the Artefacts of Ouranos series, we follow Lor, Nadir, and their friends into the literal bowls of hell as they fight for life, love, and a lost queendom. It's a story that showcases the ability of one choice charting the course of a lifetime, and not for the better. It's a story that spotlights how unfair fate can seem, and how you respond to that can make or break you - and those around you.
This story may take place in a fantasy world, but it reflects life, even in this world.
So, I struggled to finish this book. It was great - don't get me wrong - but I love this series and knowing this was the last... I don't think I've ever had this kind of issue before! I just didn't want it to end...

Oh sweet Saxon... you deserve the fairytale!
Revisado: 11-18-24
Can you be a golden retriever AND be in the Mafia? Abbi Glines answers this question with an easy, "Meet Saxon." Of course, he can be the sweetest, most perfect book boyfriend and still have heartbreak and angst, because this is the southern mafia, after all! And in the end - it will be his love that finishes his induction into the working branch of the family...
I have to ask though - what's with trying to run off the guys' girlfriends? Get this audiobook to find out!
Ryan Lee Dunlap and Vivienne LaRue bring this story to life in another super hot production from Sparks Fly Studio. It's narrated in duet, which brings the tale to life.
I really can't get enough of this series - and SparksFly is the perfect partner to bring it to audio. Thank you Abbi for another great installment!!

Historia
Being the second son of a mafia boss has its perks. The money and power without the pressure of running the damn thing one day. Trev Hughes was everyone’s favorite playboy. He possessed the Hughes sex appeal without the intimidating presence. The last time a gorgeous blonde walked into his life he never stood a chance. She had belonged to his older brother from the very beginning. However, when he uses one of his best pickup lines on a girl he notices across the room at a gala, tricks her into a kiss, and loses her before midnight he’s determined to find his Cinderella.

Abbi Glines + Sparksfly studio = PERFECTION!
Revisado: 08-29-24
I am addicted to this series - SO good! But add in fantastic narration and you have HEAVEN!
This book felt like it had less of a Mafia vibe to me. Sure, it was time for Trev to join in with the big boys, but he only did so a couple of times. This story was more of a Cinderella story for the FMC, Gypsi. And you know what? That is ok. I enjoyed the heck out of it! Especially with amazing performances by MK Blackwood and Lucas Allen.
Spoiler-free synopsis below:
Trev loves his playboy life of parties and women - until he meets one he can’t have.
The daughter of the woman his mobster father is about to marry...
They’ll be step-siblings... it would be wrong... and if it went bad, it’d affect his father’s relationship too. But he can't seem to get her out of his mind, OR stay away!
Gypsi has been burned by love. Her ex was a BAD man, and he just when she thinks she's gotten away from him, a ring shows up - so far from where he should be... Her new friends can't protect her, can they? And what is with this attraction to the son of the man her mother is involved with?

Historia
Not only does Griffin Gentry show up unexpectedly at Riley Thorn’s door—the real shock is that he’s begging her for help. Riley’s hot private investigator boyfriend Nick Santiago refusing to take the job is…well, less of a surprise. Too bad for Nick that his octogenarian business partner overrules him and takes the lead on Griffin’s case. But when a dead body makes it clear someone really is out to get Riley’s ex, the mile-long suspect list means all hands on deck at Santiago Investigations. Even the wrinkly, retired ones.

I enjoyed the final book in the Riley Thorn series
Revisado: 08-15-24
As with the first 3, this book has it all. Romance, mystery, comedy, and even a little bit of the paranormal. This installment wraps it up nicely but DOES leave a little room for spin-offs, or even more Riley and Nick. And just like the first 3, I love that the cast of characters spans all age ranges. The FMC and MMC are both a little older, but still working to get their lives together, and as a mid-life reader, this appeals to my firm belief that you can start over at any age.
The narrator did a great job, although I prefer a cast - usually.
The comedy is the highlight in this book and in this series as a whole. It lends light to the darker nature of the crimes at the base of each mystery. It's a little silly, and a little slapstick. I can't help but giggle!

Historia
Meghan, Brecia, and Skye have just one thing in common. They were all murdered by the same man. He hunted them online, masquerading as an eligible bachelor. Then he played the perfect gentleman, a thick layer of charm and a thousand-watt smile hiding the fact that his first dates end in shallow graves. He’s gotten away with murder three times now. The only thing that might keep him from killing again? The women he murdered. Meghan, Brecia, and Skye might be dead, but they’re not gone. They’ve found each other. And they won’t rest until they find a way to stop him.

Great thriller for the online dating age.
Revisado: 07-02-24
Ask for Andrea is a well-written book, and the audio version is well-performed.
The single narrator provided an excellent performance and gave each character their own feel.
I ran the gamut of emotions with this story, starting with terror, anger, and disappointment in the human race over all - but in the end, felt the power of the women coming together to overcome. And THAT is my biggest takeaway. Life is not fair, especially for women, but together we can make a difference.
I encourage all women who might use online dating to read this and be vigilant in meetups.
