My Family History

This book does an excellent job of stitching together the history of the anthracite coal industry in NEPA. My grandfather worked in the mines for his whole life after coming here from Poland and I never knew the stories that were revealed in this book. Anyone who had relatives who were miners should read this one , I am glad I did. It opened my eyes to my family history in a very welcome way that makes me appreciate my family even more than I did.

A story that I wish was unbelievable.

This was an amazing expose of the corrupt police in Chicago , I wish that it was fiction but unfortunately it is not. The research that went into this had to be a huge undertaking but the t’s were crossed and the i’s were all dotted correctly . It is my hope that this story helps to alleviate any future situation that may present itself but I hope with a bit of doubt. I can hope!

Pip feels he gets no credit and he holds a grudge.

Pippen was an excellent player who had to live in the shadow of MJ but in spite of that became one of the best ever. Basketball is a team sport and it takes 5 guys to excel in a prescriptive process . Neither Pippen nor Jordan would have been so great without each other. I learned that both of their egos were way too big. Interesting take on a career that I watched every day in Chicago.

We need people like McCabe desperately. People need to stand up to this president before he grows that little mustache, he is as bad as the last guy with that little mustache. God help the USA. And go see BlackKlansman too, it shows what is happening . Stop the madman soon.

Being from the NEPA area and having left there permanently in 1978 this was an eye opener. People were not like this when I lived there. I guess Trump emboldened racists to act on their thoughts, really sad. I am struggling to understand this, it is really bothering me. I hope I can understand why and I hope that this mindset goes away. We are all people and , oh well, I just do not understand or condone this approach.

What can be said when a team goes 108 years between World Series wins, that is one year for every stitch on a baseball or a very long time! Good for the cubs and good for Mr Cohen the author not only for a good book but for being able to cleanse his mental makeup before he like so many others passed on into immortality having never witnessed a cubs team winning just once!

Thought I might go a whole lifetime without seeing this but wow, they did it! I am a Yankee fan for my whole life but this was a great story. Theo is a genius!
