Historia
Mary, unloved and selfish, finds friendship and happiness helping her neurotic, invalid cousin become strong and healthy. Nature's powerful magic touches both children as they toil to revive their secret garden. The story alludes to some very modern themes including the ability of mental beliefs to create health, the strength of group optimism, and the restorative power of nature.

Great story, but some sound quality issues
Revisado: 03-11-24
An excellent story, as always, and the reader was very good, but the sound track did some crackling and popping at times - it sounded a bit like a digitized version of an older phonograph record. Most of the book was fine, but every so often it would crackle and pop in the background for a few minutes, then it would be fine again for a while. I still gave it 4 stars because the reader was very good, I got the book for free, and the crackling and popping was not as annoying after I stopped using ear buds and just listened over my tablet's speakers.

Join Michael Wigge as he immerses himself into fascinating subcultures, rides with Amish farmers in old-fashioned buggies, sleeps on the street with the homeless, and, with the help from alternative lifestylers, learns to nourish himself with flowers. Wigge had only three concerns during his travels: How do I get some food? How will I get to my next destination? Where can I sleep? …all without money! This unusual travel diary combines adventure with humor and contains surprising revelations about when money is really needed - and when it's not.

An enjoyable read!
Revisado: 08-02-22
I loved this audiobook. He decided to travel from Germany to "the end of the world" - a.k.a. Antarctica and, since he couldn't actually afford to do it, he decided to try getting there without spending a cent of his own money on the trip. And he did it! Even though he was a smooth talker, half of the time the reason he got by for free was because he could prove he was a journalist writing a story about traveling without money. He also had some great - and not so great - ways of raising a little money when he needed to: Human sofa? Public pillow fights? Some of the situations he got himself into were hilarious, others a bit scary, and he met some amazing people along the way!
If you're looking for a practical guide for budget travel, this isn't it, though you may find a few useful ideas here and there. However, it definitely is an enjoyable read! Recommended!

Winnie-the-Pooh

Historia
Come with us to an Enchanted Place, a forest where Winnie-the-Pooh lived with Piglet, Rabbit, Owl, Eeyore, Kanga, and Little Roo. The stories are about Christopher Robin and these good companions having wonderful times getting in and out of trouble. It is all very exciting and, really, quite thrilling no matter how young or old you may be. It is painful to try and imagine what the world would be like without them.

Wonderful reading of a timeless classic!
Revisado: 07-19-22
We have always loved Winnie the Pooh, but Peter Dennis's reading adds so much to the story! No wonder it's the only version authorized by A.A. Milne's son. The whole family loves this audio book!

Great start to the SERRAted Edge series!
Revisado: 06-07-22
Aside from a narrator who didn't do his research on a few pronunciations (ex: Keighvan is pronounced Kegvan throughout), great 1st book in this series! I read it in print when it first came out and loved it and I really enjoyed reading it again in this Audible version. I'm so glad they recorded it unabridged!

Poorly abridged so that it is confusing in places
Revisado: 01-14-20
I didn't read the info closely enough before I bought this, so I didn't realize it was abridged until I was listening to it and it suddenly jumped from one thing to another and then referred back to something that never happened in this audiobook (but did in the print version). This happened quite a few times. I had read the print version years ago and some of the parts that were skipped were parts that are necessary to the story. I think they seriously over-abridged this. Unfortunate, because I love Marina Sirtis's narration. I'm getting either the kindle or the print version so I can read this as Ms. McCaffrey wrote it and I won't be buying abridged audio versions of her other books after hearing how poorly this one was abridged.

Couldn't put it down!
Revisado: 07-01-19
Good thing I listened to this on my day off, because I couldn't stop until it was over. One twist after another. Typically good plot and characters from Laurie. Thought the narrator made the FBI agents sound a bit like whiny kids at times, but otherwise excellent!
