Historia
Derek Martell finds himself on a contract job in Iraq when the newly formed Islamic Caliphate unleashes a genetic weapon - to devastating effect. Eighty percent of the non-Arab global population is wiped out overnight. As Derek and his crew struggle to escape the Middle East ahead of an expected nuclear counterstrike, questions plague him. Why are military personnel seemingly unaffected? How far-reaching is the weapon? And is there still a United States to return to?

Amazing, well written and narrated story
Revisado: 06-01-22
It's saddening that politics has divided this great country, and that people have to throw stones, (or worse), at those who have a different opinion of the world than their own. I thoroughly enjoyed Clay Martin's wit and sarcasm, and his great story telling talent. The story line sets up an apocalyptic scenario that is hopefully improbable but not impossible. If the wrong person or group came into possession of a WMD, I have no doubt that they would use it. Thankfully because of the brave men and women in service to our Nation who protect our safety and freedom every single day while putting their own lives on the line, it has not happened ....yet.

Historia
While investigating Blackston’s recent activities, FBI Agent Jeremy Winter stumbles upon a string of missing persons within state parks. As the clues mount, a dark figure from Jeremy’s past emerges with an ultimatum - one that could force him out of the bureau. Afraid that his girlfriend, fellow agent Maggie Keeley, will be dragged into a high-stakes political game, he delays his decision.

Narrator reads like English is his 2nd language
Revisado: 05-07-22
I have listened to a couple hundred audio books, so I feel I have some basis of experience to give my opinion; Mr Walp is in the wrong line of work. I have never heard anyone destroy a reading by putting the inflection of so many words and phrases in the wrong or opposite way they would be in normal speech. Of all the narrators I have listened to, some have been outstanding, and some not so great. Mr Walp is by FAR a 0 on a 1 to 10 scale of 10 being the best. I like the story, so I will have to get the actual book to finish it, but I can't force myself to listen to any more of this narration.

Poor narration
Revisado: 10-31-20
Taye Diggs was a wrong pick to "narrate" this tale. He often puts inflections incorrectly which is off-putting when you are in the "meat" of the story. It made for a disappointing listen.

In John Scalzi's re-imagining of H. Beam Piper's 1962 sci-fi classic Little Fuzzy, written with the full cooperation of the Piper Estate, Jack Holloway works alone for reasons he doesnt care to talk about. Hundreds of miles from ZaraCorps headquarters on planet, 178 light-years from the corporations headquarters on Earth, Jack is content as an independent contractor, prospecting and surveying at his own pace. As for his past, thats not up for discussion.

boring

I found no humor in this selection that was supposed to be humorous. Maybe it is a cultural appreciation of this type of humor, but I love to laugh, and I didn't even get a smile out of this.
