Historia
May you see the face and not the mask. Ren came to Nadežra with a plan. She would pose as the long-lost daughter of the noble house Traementis. She would secure a fortune for herself and her sister. And she would vanish without a backward glance. She ought to have known that in the city of dreams, nothing is ever so simple. Now, she is Ren, con-artist and thief. But she is also Renata, the celebrated Traementis heir. She is Arenza, the mysterious pattern-reader and political rebel. And she is the Black Rose, a vigilante who fights alongside the legendary Rook.

One of my new all time favorite series
Revisado: 01-29-24
I'd give it more than 5 stars in every category if I could.
Don't know where to start - everything about this series is awesome!
The world building is masterful - such detail about so many different groups and belief systems.
The characters are deep and conflicted, along with being caring and courageous.
And the narrator - Nikki Massoud... She is incredibly talented! She does at least 30 different voices and they are SO good! I can't imagine the time she must have spent figuring them all out and keeping them straight. She the best I've ever heard and I have been listening to Audio books for over 10 years.
This is a new twist on fantasy, magic and challenges.
I highly recommend this series.

Historia
Having learned a lesson about thwarting the will of the gods, Imriel and Sidonie publicly confess their affair, only to see the country boil over in turmoil. Younger generations, infatuated by their heart-twisting, star-crossed romance, defend the couple. Many others cannot forget the betrayals of Imriel's mother, Melisande, who plunged their country into a bloody war that cost the lives of their fathers, brothers, and sons.

loved this series

Sad to see this series end. From the very first book, Kushiel's Dart I was hooked. It's hard to find really good story lines, characters and world building in one place, but Jacqueline has done it all.

Historia
Pat Conroy is without doubt America's favorite storyteller, a writer who portrays the anguished truth of the human heart and the painful secrets of families in richly lyrical prose and unforgettable narratives. Now, in Beach Music, he tells of the dark memories that haunt generations, in a story that spans South Carolina and Rome and reaches back into the unutterable terrors of the Holocaust.

Pat Conroy at his best
Revisado: 08-03-19
It’s been a long time since I listened AND read a book simultaneously, then listened to it again as soon as I finished it. A story filled with love, humor, pain, agony and Pat’s ability to use words in such a way that you are awed by the beauty of the sentence.
I love the warped, dark humor he brings to each of his novels, and have shared those parts with family members who roared with laughter. I felt touched by this novel in so many ways. Highly recommend it.
