The poor reviews are wrong - I'm glad I purchased!
Revisado: 05-12-23
I took the advice of another listener and set the speed to 1.2x. The style of writing took a little bit to get used to and then I couldn't stop listening. The foreshadowing was sometimes obvious. However, the story was unique and captivating, yet dark.; "better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all" (Lord Alfred Tennyson).

Historia
When Evangeline is sent to live in a small mill town in Northern England as a schoolteacher in 1871, she finds herself struggling to fit in with an unfamiliar culture. Raised with the high-class Victorian values and ideals of a sophisticated upbringing, she is unprepared for the poverty she finds in the gritty factory town of Smeatley, where the locals speak with a hard-to-understand Yorkshire accent and struggle to thrive with few resources or opportunities. Though she has no training as a teacher, she must prove herself successful before her grandfather will release her inheritance.

Romance with Inspiration
Revisado: 11-23-22
There is history, romance, and a splash of modernist ideology. Hope and love follow persistence and determination. I highly recommend this story by Ms. Eden as wonderfully narrated by Ms. Eyer.

Entertaining but a bit awkward

The previous stories were more developed. The foreshadowing is too obvious. The story is just not as captivating as other stories by Copperman.

Neil Shah's performance was impressive with its ability to draw me deeply into the universe where simulation created the ultimate test of character for both the test taker and the test giver. Bravo to Sylvain Neuvel for writing inteligently with finesse. I recommend this book.

This is a fresh story for me. I couldn't stop listening and stayed up later than I should have. It was well worth being a bit sleepy in the morning. I enjoyed Sylvain Neuvel's writing and the talented voices of all the narrators.

Creative - philosophy & believable science fiction
Revisado: 09-15-22
Orson Scott Card's intelligent imagination has brought about a clever story. The typical sci-fi beginning soon turns sharply left to embrace a surprising philosophy on the value and meaning of being alive. The details in the writing make up for its shortfall in depth. Rudnicki has a smooth voice that creates a more immersive experience for the listener. I highly recommend this Audible edition.

Unique and stunning on many levels
Revisado: 09-12-22
The story is praiseworthy in its crafting. I feel like I have missed some of the depth of particular elements; the meaning of the wild animals of the flatlands.I want to find more skillful reviews. However, I can identify mastery when I see and hear it. Rudnicki is extremely talented as the narrator. I highly recommend this Audible book!
