Historia
In stories of love and loss, of trauma and hope, told from care homes, living rooms, classrooms and kitchens, All the Lonely People is an intimate portrait of loneliness. Over countless cups of tea, psychologist Dr Sam Carr has collected hours of conversations with people young and old, including single parents, carers, teenagers and the bereaved, and found that while each of their stories is utterly unique, they are all born out of the same desire for human connection.

even though the book is designed I guess to alert us to the existence and persistence of loneliness, the stories in themselves bring you down. and, there really nothing to do about the condition

Historia
When the naked body of a teenage girl is found on a riverbank in Basque Country, Spain, homicide inspector Amaia Salazar must return to the hometown she always sought to escape. A dark secret from Amaia's past plagues her with nightmares, and as her investigation deepens, the old pagan beliefs of the community threaten to derail her astute detective work. The lines between mythology and reality begin to blur, and Amaia must discover whether the crimes are the work of a ritualistic killer or of a mythical creature known as the Basajaun, the Invisible Guardian.

Poor reader
Revisado: 01-18-23
This is a captivating story and mystery. Very deep in its controversial subjects. However the narrator/reader. Is terrible. Her attempts at changes voiced to match characters is dismal at best. She sounds like a fake “Mexican” accent used in typical 50’s thru 70’s American movies with whites men imitating s Mexican accent. Mind you, the books is based in Spain. She reminds me of the cartoon character “Speedy Gonzalez”.
Really ruined the listening experience for me. 😞
